Heard a couple on-air people were let go yesterday.
Since ratings were just released I wonder if some format changes are coming.

Isn't that what already happened with this frequency? I thought originally Broadway gifted 107.9 to someone, and that was the origin of The Mountain programming.

I haven't heard anything myself but I have the feeling we might hear about something soon. Stay tuned. Interesting...based on the ratings?

I've noticed changes in the on-air content over the last year or so at KSL.
We're already aware of changes with the schedule, with Dave and Dujanovic, Jay Mac and Jeff Caplan.
But what I'm talking about is hearing less local news today than in years past.
For example, I heard Brian & Amanda's full hour "in-depth at 8" this morning. Right off the top of the hour, one semi-local story involving a Utah politician, then a story from North Carolina, followed by another story from NC. Both stories with sound from a local tv station in that state, or ABC News.
Afternoon News features fewer local stories too, I've noticed. I'm sure they only have 1 live reporter on the streets. Back when I worked for them I'd be out with 2 or 3 other live reporters covering local stories.
So here's my question:
Does less local content indicate a format shift from all news to news & commentary, or are we seeing a leaner staff and fewer people covering local stories due to budget cuts?

I was more interested in the ratings, not the personal attacks.

Do the ratings show dayparts? Curious to see how KSL's 9-12p and 3-7p shows are doing.

I thought they were grooming Jay Mac to take over for Doug Wright.

When did KEGA shift from currents to gold? I sense a flip soon, based on the ratings lately.

Looks like Drew Steele (weekday evenings on KSL Newsradio) is missing from the schedule and bio pages on ksl.com.

If they keep 13 and 2, think they'd combine news products like Hawaii News Now, or run separate news rooms like Meredith does with their Phoenix stations?

Just saw a news release that Sinclair Broadcasting is acquiring all the Tribune TV stations, which includes KSTU (Fox 13). sbgi.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/SBG-Trib-Final.pdfSince Sinclair already owns KUTV and KMYU (and KJZZ, I believe), will they sell one of the stations? Any thoughts on which one?

Curious how the dayparts for KSL look? I'm hearing a lot of PSAs during the afternoon news, which makes me think advertisers aren't liking the new format.

Looks like KNRS will be using a new logo when they move to 105.9 on Oct. 8: This logo makes no mention of their AM dial position, which makes me wonder if they're going to split the programming or sell 570 AM?

Flipped to 99.1 in Utah Co. this afternoon, and heard a 97.1 ZHT simulcast.
The 97.1 signal comes in decently across northern Utah Co. Think they'd pull better numbers with it than they did with country?

I never noticed anything on 95.3 in the Salt Lake Valley before. It's a strong signal.
Is it new?
