Wright has announced he's winding down The Doug Wright Show. He will continue to do The Movie Show on Fridays. No article on KSL.com yet.
He said he's been at KSL for 40 years. Very impressive.

So now for some analysis.
Wright is a huge figure at one of the biggest stations in the market. Obviously the impact is going to be felt. The question is going to be how much.
I'm sure his show has been a big draw for advertisers. Advertisers like the demos that a high impact show such as his brings. I think it's interesting that KSL is choosing to move the “Dave and Dujanovic” show from evenings to late mornings. I admit I haven't listened to the show much, but this worries me. (Note this is my personal reaction to the show and there's every reason to think I'm wrong.) To me the "D&D" show I've heard sounds more like college radio than something that would be heard on a major station like KSL. That isn't necessarily a bad thing for an evening show, but I don't see how that will work in the 9AM-noon slot. Hopefully there is some retooling involved that will bring the new show a little more in line with that time period. Host(s) adapting their style when moving to a different time period has certainly happened before. We'll have to wait and see.
The other question here is what will happen to the evening time slots. The "D&D" show is currently in early evening followed by a repeat of Doug Wright's show. It makes sense at least in the short term to rerun mornings in the evening, but there's still going to be a hole unless they do something insane like rerun it twice. I wonder what they're going to fill it with. I hope it will be something local. I think being almost all local been a good part of KSL's success. Could the Nightside Project reemerge on broadcast? It's along the same lines as the “Dave and Dujanovic” show, so it might just slide right in.
And now a little bit of nitpickyness. One thing I'm not going to miss is how Doug Wright messes up the legal ID every day. There is no such thing as KSL-AM. The AM suffix doesn't exist in callsigns. Of course if that's the worst thing anyone could come up with when talking about him then I think he's doing a great job.
Other thoughts?

1) Bring back "The Nightside Project" with Alex Kirry and Ethan Millard from 7-11:00 PM! One of the biggest mistakes KSL made was dumping the Nightside Project for that blowhard Drew Steele. At least KSL partially redeemed themselves by giving Steele the boot after just over a year on air.
2) Replace Doug Wright's show with something similar to "The Browsers" with Amy Iverson and Jay McFarland. IMHO, McFarland is almost insufferable to listen to on his own, and he would probably benefit from having another co-host to add some perspective. Alternately, KSL could move the Dave and Dujanovic show into Doug's time slot, and expand the J Mac News Show by an hour. I just wish that KSL would put the Nightside Project back on the air. It was one of the only reasons I ever bothered listening to KSL.
FWIW, the same article about Doug Wright is now posted on KSL's main site.

Moving the “Dave and Dujanovic” show into Wright's old slot is already a done deal. The transition begins next week and finishes in June.

I thought they were grooming Jay Mac to take over for Doug Wright.
