KODJ ended at #1 in the 6+ ratings. They pushed it last month but made it this month. Not sure the last time that happened.
KSL remains in its summer doldrums. That's to be expected.
94.9, dare I say it, is doing well. Even more impressive given the hampered signal up to the north.

Do the ratings show dayparts? Curious to see how KSL's 9-12p and 3-7p shows are doing.

I subscribe to everything... NOT good.. 1230-3 is the lowest daypart.. duh J macdonald is terrible.. and M-Thur 9-noon is substantially lower than Friday... before the change. friday was usually the stronger.. but not the difference there is now.. Debbie is pretty good. but Dave just talks stuff to death... wheels ain't turning.. gears ain't connecting.. JMacdonald just seems to never stop being impressed with him actually getting spoon to mouth....he is SO annoying..

I was more interested in the ratings, not the personal attacks.

The midday guy on KSL is named Jay McFarland not McDonald and I really enjoy Jeff Caplan's afternoon news, particularly his "my minute of news"--what you'd call off-beat stories. I think he's pretty creative. That segment is available in a podcast too. He was the morning news man on WCBS radio in New York on 9/11. You can hear that broadcast on YouTube. It is sad that Scott Seger was kind of pushed out of the way for Jeff but I do enjoy him. I wonder what Scott is up to now and what happened to Sandy Collins. I think she came in around the same time as Jeff. Sandy was handling local news and Maria Shalaos was doing national. Now I think Maria is doing all of it. It's generally an enjoyable listen for me.

Although, it just occurred to me, McFarland could be an alias and maybe his real last name is McDonald but McFarland is always what he's gone by even back in the days of the Browsers. I miss that show.

Public ratings do not show anything except 6+ Mon-Sun 6AM-Midnight. The actual numbers are protected by copyright and we can't publish them.
There's a fine line between criticism and personal attacks. I consider those criticisms though it was sortof close. Please be careful. Thanks.
As I've said before, I personally didn't like Dave & Dujanovic when it was on in the evening. That style doesn't seem like a good replacement for the serious news that Doug Wright did, though following him was going to be a tough act for anyone. Also don't care for Jay Mac, but maybe both might appeal more to a younger demo. I'm sure the suits at KSL study all this very carefully.

I think KSL has been aiming for younger demos for the past 2-3 years. Jay Macfarland was OK when he had Amy Iverson as co-host on The Browsers, but I quit listening after she left. Ditto for replacing the Nightside Project with Drew Steele, and then Dave & Dujanovic. I'm sure KSL could care less, though, since it's been at least 20 years that I've been outside of the coveted 18-34 demo. That's fine with me, since KVNU is well within listening range in Ogden, and IMO is a much better alternative. At least 610 doesn't devote 1/2 of their weekend schedule to paid programming!

Oh, okay. Thanks for the info about Scott Seger. KNRS has a couple of KSL alumni. (I'm sure I'll butcher the spellings of these names so please forgive that.) Rod Arquette did afternoon news with Maria for a while as did Scott. Don Shafer went over to KNRS years ago with his gardening shows and such. I don't know if he's still there or not. Tim Huges anchored KNRS's morning news back when they were K-News. Whatever happened to Bob Lee? He was on KSL for years of course, then KNRS, KALL, and gone. Another one I wonder about is Brad Stone. He was a great sportscaster. I always thought it would be cool if he would work for KZNS. "Brad Stone on the Zone." Sorry, probably getting a little off topic. Have a great one, folks.

Don Shafer is one of the hosts of the Travel Show heard Saturday mornings on KNRS and KVNU. I'm not sure if he's still doing a gardening program or not.
