Here are the highlights I see from the latest ratings numbers.
KSL has regained the number 1 spot. I don't think that's a big surprise given that talk is pretty hot with the election less than a couple of weeks away. KNRS has remained pretty steady though.
Interestingly there was a noticable uptick in KSQN's numbers, though only a few days of this rating period were from the new Wave format. Were those few days really huge or was Sunny starting to get some traction before the plug got pulled? Next book we should know.
Another oddity, KJMY-HD2 (probably really anyone listening to the 99.1 translator) fell completely off the map. Didn't really make sense that so many people were listening to ZHT that way, so maybe somebody figured that out.
That is all.

KSL's jump in the latest ratings book makes me wonder if the exit of The Nightside Project was planned or just a coincidence. The show went to a podcast only format just before the beginning of the October ratings period and was replaced by Your Voice, Your Vote 2016 with Drew Steele, which is heavily focused on political issues.

Curious how the dayparts for KSL look? I'm hearing a lot of PSAs during the afternoon news, which makes me think advertisers aren't liking the new format.

PM drive is a big part of radio, so with KSL being #1 in 6+ the ratings couldn't be that bad.

I'm sure the addition of the BYU Cougars football games helped KSL in the last ratings book as well. It will be interesting to see how they do ratings wise post election and post football season. Eventually people will tire of all the chatter about the presidential election, won't they?

I think you have LDS General conference in there as well. That causes a HUGE spike. Between that, BYU football and the most crazy election season in recent memory, I'm not surprised to see the share increase. I also wouldn't be surprised to see them settle back down after it's all over. KSL has been underperforming for quite some time.

I'm not sure what ratings you're looking at, but KSL is consistently at or near the top of the public ratings and has been for a very long time.

Adults 25-54. That's their bread and butter. They have been hurting there for over a year.

That may be true (I wouldn't know since you have to be a subscriber to get those numbers), but talk stations across the country are tanking in all demos and putting up lousy numbers in all age groups. If I were them I'd be very pleased that I was doing that well in overall numbers, even if it was mostly older demos.
