Many involved with KALL ESPN 700 have wanted to be on FM somewhere... so this makes sense. This Translator, according to FCC page, is owned by The Sanpete Radio folks.. who have made other deals directly or indirectly with the Broadway Folks (103.9 Translator on Lake Mnt etc) ... Any chance you could fill us in on the source of the information linking to Kall?? Also the move to Farnesworth is not shown here transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/fmq?list=0&facid=139660.... that shows it on some building downtown it looks like...

I heard two figures on the xmttr site.. 6.5 and 26 million... 6.5 sounds more likely.. that's enough to walk away...

Just got word from inside the building that Cumulus is giving the KFNZ license back to the FCC.. they have a serious offer on the ant site land.. and they only did 16K of sales last month.. I did hear someone a few weeks ago on The Zone talking about somebody on one of the other sports talkers potentially coming over to the zone.. but haven't heard anything since... The Fan going dark this afternoon at 3pm (I think they said 3pm)

Nielsen DID have complete information on KENZ listenership... but due to an anomoly in the automated reporting of 6plus numbers to the press... it didn't make it to those lists... but subscribers saw everything. Actually from Oct 2015 to Jan 2017 they AVERAGE a 1.6 Share.. and kept the cume about 200k more often than not... actually looked pretty good in Utah Valley... and Actually KEPT most of that in their transition to CHR... preliminarily it looks like a quick bump up for them with the new format

The Big multi station frequency move location move etc that should be going down before the end of the year... that creates a new signal on Farnesworth for Broadway Media at 99.1 (I think) That makes 105.1 go away (I think) and moves 105.7 and 106.5 up (i think) one channel... What all does anyone know about this??? This is the one that has been in the works for about 10 years...
Thanks!

Just got the Email Blast to clients from Simmons. It's done.. Dell Loy Hansen is now an owner along with David Simmons. Goldman Sachs etc have sold their interest. Nothing about how the ownership is split up.

Summer 2009.. the last diary Book.. the last book before PPM and before KNRS shot itself in the foot with the PURPOSELY ambiguous flip to FM... was a 6.8 share... (and number 2 12Plus) ... since fm and PPM... they've been a 2.8 up to a 4.0 share... July had a 3.1 and ranked 14th...

The new PPM terms to learn are "indicental cume" and "invisible cume"
They each add about 10% and they are BOTH insignificant to advertisers.....

Relative to KNRS going 50K.. looks like there are issues in doing so from their current antennae site.... adding that much RF near the refineries is a potential hazard to the degree that the scuttlebutt is that they are postponing going with the boost to 50K....
As to the inherent incapability of younger folks finding the AM dial... What's on AM aimed at them??? And what do the numbers prove about it??? Comparing M-F 6a-mid Winter Cume 18-34 numbers (to minimize the BYU Saturday Football effect) Let's compare Winter 02 (before KSL added 102.7fm) and Winter 09
KSL Winter 02 Cume 54200, Winter 09 Cume 64700 KNRS Winter 02 Cume 24700 Winter 09 Cume 43500 KXRK Winter 02 Cume 132700, Winter 09 Cume 86100
Some increase would naturally show because from 02 to 09 ARB had two or three population base increases that would grow overall cume in and of itself.
Look at those numbers, and consider that KSL has a 50K am and full power FM AND have definitely skewed the programming in the evening MUCH younger than before... And what has KNRS added in the interim??? Glenn Beck and Dave Ramsey...
About KXRK, the End isn't the factor it was in 02 (cume is half of what it was) KJMY is a factor now, and it's anybody's guess whether KBER/KHTB/KZZQ battle is affecting KXRK.
Anyway.. I know it's an old saw... about FM vs AM-younger vs older. There are also lot's of noise about how soon FM destroyed AM and they're usually off by 5 years at least... for example, KDOT 960am was beating KFMY 96.1 until 1983 or 1984.... KLCY 94.1 was really the first AC station aimed at adults on FM and it wasn't going till I think 1982 or 1983.... AM still ruled until about 1984..... Come on over I have ARB's going back to '82. About that, I'm not sure whether I'm bragging OR complaining!

From what I understand it's just going to be another talker of some sort. Interestingly, from what I have "heard" is that in "shopping" for product, they found a number of talk shows NOT currently on is SLC that have recently been optioned by someone else... so the extrapolation is that there is ANOTHER party that is working on another Talker..... well, well!

NO Way? This general release went out to advertisers on Monday Afternoon 7/27... It's a done deal. On Monday August 3, 2009, 570 AM KNRS will also be heard on 105.7 FM. Attached is an information sheet that will help answer questions. The station will simulcast all programming for a period of 45-60 days. At that time all existing KNRS programming will be heard exclusively on 105.7 KNRS-FM and a new station will be launched on AM 570. All programming on KNRS will remain the same, and the move to a full market class “C” FM signal on Farnsworth Peak, provides KNRS better coverage in Utah, Tooele and Summit Counties for our advertisers’ messages. Attached is an information sheet that will help answer questions. Additional information will be sent as it becomes available and I will be calling you in the next few days to answer questions. In the meantime please call me if you have any specific concerns you would like to have me address. Thank you for your business and I look forward to working with you as we make this exciting change.

All stations that reach the .5 Share Threshold show up in the Trends (except Non-Comms) and ALL stations show up in the Quarterly "Book". Stations below the .5 Threshold and non-comms show up "Below the line" (a term from when ARB published a printed book, which the quit doing a year or two ago). Now, when you open up Maximiser or Mediapro or whatever you use and click on the "Metro Stations" button... you get Commercial Stations that get at least a .5 Share... but the others that don't reach this and the non-comms are available to individually select and add to the list of stations you are running a report on.
