Sadly we have to start taking about it now. Stations around the country have already started to flip.
It's pretty much a guarantee that FM100.3 will go Xmas at some point. They had a monster holiday season last year. I don't think any other major station did all Christmas, did they? I'm sure that helped.
Who else do you think will be all Christmas this year and when?

KEGA-FM (a/k/a 101.5 The Eagle) flipped to all Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving last year, and I'm betting they'll do the same this year. KLGN 1390 AM & 103.3 FM usually flip to all Xmas by the second week of November, but since their web site is currently under construction it's anyone's guess as to when they'll flip this year. Their previous website prominently featured "The Christmas Station--Every November and December" icon at the top of their page.

Question about the Eagle's Christmas music last year... Was it traditional Christmas Music or the "Country Christmas" music they did in 2013?? THANKS! Most of what KEGA played last year was country Christmas music, but I did hear a few of the old standards like White Christmas by Bing Crosby and The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole thrown in occasionally.

Yes, like last year. Sponsor is Mercedez Benz of Farmington: fm100.com/contest/flip-christmas-switch/Their website is already decked out and it looks like they secured Roku as a sponsor of their (online only for now) holiday stream.

IBOC digital subchannels are irrelevant since almost nobody listens to them. Only very few people even CAN listen to them.

KLGN (a/k/a Lite FM) flipped to all Xmas music this morning. Note to Cache Valley Radio Group: you might want to put a rush job on getting KLGN's web site back on line, since it's presently the peak of the holiday music season for terrestrial radio stations. In other words, it's not ideal for those who live outside KLGN's signal coverage area to have your live feed and station page offline right now.

Peak? Hardly. Not for another few weeks.

Peak? Hardly. Not for another few weeks. I suppose it depends on which part of the country one lives in. There were close to a dozen stations in the Southern and Eastern states that flipped to all Xmas music on November 1st, but in Utah the peak season for Ho-Ho-Ho is a little later than the rest of the country. It seems like people here enjoy a more traditional type of Christmas celebration, with most stations waiting until Thanksgiving (or close to it) to make the switch. Personally, seeing Christmas decorations in the local stores a week before Halloween is enough for me.

We're really only talking about this market (I mean it's in the name ) but the rest of the country from my observations has been slowing down over the past few years too. There's been a significant backlash all over the country against Christmas starting too early. Case in point-the protests about Black Friday sales starting Thanksgiving night. And yes, I agree that Christmas should wait until at least the day after Thanksgiving. Then go nuts.
