Anybody know what's up with 860? They've been off the air for a couple of days. And their Website doesn't respond.
I turned on KLO 103.1 last night and heard the Phil Hendrie Show. He's normally on KKAT 860. So, I'm thinking that maybe 860 has just given up.
Speaking of KLO, I just looked at their Website and they show that Laura Ingraham is back on their station. And they've picked up Hugh Hewitt.
Ch... ch... ch... changes.

Wow! KSL has taken a dive. What's going on there? I don't remember KNRS beating KSL before.

B98.7 is sounding much better now to me. They seem to have dropped the oldies and the crossover country stuff and have added more pop stuff. They sound to me like they've found a niche between Now 97.9 and Mix 107.9. Now if they can just avoid the rap crap I will continue listening.
As far as DJ's go, I don't care about any of them. And I don't know any of their names. I'm there for the music. There were some funny and interesting DJ's decades ago. I haven't heard any for years.
Yuh, they sound good. I haven't found a reason to change stations yet. "No DJ's, no commercials. This is a sample of the new B98.7"

I care.
I'm glad to see 97.9 doing well. They are my favorite music station. Perhaps Capitol can continue funding KLO as it is. I listen to Bill Bennett and would miss him. Perhaps KLO would do better if they could get Laura Ingraham back. She was their best program.
I'm also glad to see KNRS doing well. I'm a right wing nut and seldom miss Glenn Beck. Rush is also a favorite.
I'm surprised at the continued popularity of the oldies stations. I'm an oldie myself, but have kind of grown tired of most of the older music.
It looks like 106.5 is not a big winner.
Yuh, when a rim-shot, KEGA, beats full power KENZ it ought to be time to do some serious thinking. Hell, just copy KZHT, KBZN, or KUDD, and give me one more option to try when the commercials come on. Country oldies might be good too.

The Chinese government does not need to make a profit from broadcasting in SLC. They only want to influence you to think that the Chinese are good people. In fact, they are good people. I've been there. The people are wonderful people. But their government is even more corrupt than ours. To keep the Commie bosses in power they will do anything, even institute broadcasts all over the US to try to influence you that there is no need to bad talk them. They are corrupt to the core; make no mistake.

Wikipedia says CRI is a mouthpiece for the mainland China government. They think there's enough of a market here to make the investment worthwhile? I'd guess that they don't care about cost vs. listenership. They have infinite cash and political will. They have stations all over the US now and are buying more. Stand by for news!

"Utah's New Classic Rock". Sounds like competition for 103.5 .
Maybe 98.7 was just one too many Christmas signals. And 97.9 took some of their soft AC audience too.

I've been a heavy listener to KNRS. But since the election I don't listen nearly as much. Election bubble sounds right.
Looking at the ratings I notice that KUBL has fallen below KSOP. What happened there?
And I'm happy to see KBZN still beating KSFI. Someone at KBZN knows what they're doing.
I'm thinking that KBEE needs a format change. But what to?

I'd expect KLO-FM to do better in the future. It takes time for people to stumble across a new station. Time will tell, I guess.
Meanwhile, KBZN looks like a success story. Hopefully they can carry KLO until ratings improve.

If they were to split, I'd prefer the Weber State sports on AM only. I get a better signal on FM and prefer the talk shows. (And I graduated from Weber State.)
But I'll bet they just simulcast.

Newscasts? Do you mean KLO newscasts? I can't imagine anyone else would give them any publicity. Walter Platz mentioned it over and over on KLO's local morning show.
That graphic is from their Website. It rotates with other graphics in the upper right corner of the KLO home page.
Some of my radios have RDS. On 103.1 they say what they've been saying for a month or more: "PANIC AT THE DISCO LYING IS THE MOST FUN A GIRL CAN HAVE WIT", over and over.
