From KUTV.com: " Beginning August 16th, this station no longer expects to be carried by the Dish Network."

Why would that happen?

The retrans agreement runs out at midnight Wednesday night for Sinclair stations on DISH Network. Sinclair recently bought many Newport stations, including KUTV and KMYU.
Sinclair is predicting that all their stations may be dropped permanently from E*.

I agree Terry. That's my argument against retransmission consent fees, but that would be a different topic. If anyone would like to talk about that we certainly could, but that would be a different thread. Sorry to correct you Ken, but the Newport stations are being sold to Nexstar and those are KTVX 4 and KUCW 30. Sinclair bought KUTV and KMYU and that was announced almost a year ago. It's hard trying to keep track. I need to use my scorecard. As for the drop from Dish being permanent, I don't think either side is crazy enough to let that happen. Both sides would lose more than they would gain. It's possible it could drag on for a while, but there will eventually be a deal.
