Yep, I went back and read, of the two articles whose links you posted, the one I hadn't already seen; and just as I suspected: no detail in those articles that gives me the answers to my latest questions. But anyway, Seattle Flower, that's obviously not your fault. Thank you for posting those links!
Yeah, so Bill is still at 100 as a "lame duck." I suspect he probably was not fired as PD, but has decided to move elsewhere himself. If he had been fired, he probably would not want to stay there and help Kelly out! I don't think I would!
But I wonder where he's going next....
Merry Christmas!

Hey, thanks for those links.
Well, what's interesting is that I got told that Bill was replaced by Kelly--but then told that Kelly's job is different from Bill's. So if that's the case, then who's the PD that sifted out through all of this?
Oh, did I not read the article from one of those links? Hang on a second...

Hey, how come ya ignored my comment about wishing people a happy/merry Christmas? Ughh! :-p
K-Star/KSRR 1400 AM is still playing all-Christmas music for these last few days of the year! Yayyy! They realize well enough that some people still need that for a few more days! I just wish they were on FM so we could get the nice quality.
Anyway, about Fox now:
Oh, well I guess that makes some sense: "As long as we're upgrading our signal in a major way, we might as well move up with an even BIGGER bang and have a new set at the same time!" It's not really required, but I can see why it could be fun to do that. I don't know how "not-so-well-built" the old set would have been, though, so as to have had HD-noticeable flaws in it. I bet this is just mostly because they want to have a BIG bang all at once!
Okay, hey guys, as backups of each other, can we all set our recorders for around New Year's Even through New Year's Day on that channel, for several hours, so as to catch the moment when they switch to the HD signal? Oh, hey, maybe I'll call them now so we can get a more certain idea of when the switch will happen.
This note about Fox 13's switch to HD soon should be posted on the Breaking News thread!
(CAwas: maybe something like, "Fox 13 News will soon be in HD!" And then maybe a note to scroll down to the point where it's mentioned here, and then of course the link--unless there's a way to do one of those "#" links that scrolls someone down automatically.)
Merry Christmas!

You guys should try harder to remember to wish each other a happy Christmas at this moment of the year!

Okay, maybe they're going to HD. But what does that have to do with supposedly "needing a new set"?
Happy Christmas!

Hmm, so the company sounds like it's having some kind of layoff season, I guess. Signs of failure? Hmm... I wonder why.
And what's this with "Citadel/Cumulus," anyway? Did Cumulus already exist, and was this a buyout, or was this just a name change? Yeah, I've just somewhat recently heard "A Cumulus radio station" or something like that in only mane the last 2 months or so, and I wondered why the name switched. And of course you'd already know, but the website stuff (except for the name of the address and the title that shows up in the top of the browser window) has switched, too. But how long has that been?

So do you know why the Bee got rid of good ol' Rusty? Oh, shoot, I wish I had been paying more attention and writing to Shawn months ago, then, to request that the Bee do their all-Christmas program again this year like they had in 2005 (because they had a somewhat better Christmas mix than 100 and 106.5 have). So do you know why Citadel or Cumulus got rid of Rusty? What was the issue there? Wasn't he programming just fine? Were his ratings down? Is there really a difference between the way he programmed and the way Shawn does it now? Huh, haha... "blow out:" 4. to get rid of something or someone, as from an engine through its exhaust pipe, or as by a fan through a nearby window, or as being shot from a cannon. I heard that term used for deleting a sound file from a computer hard drive once or twice. Why does that seem to be a somewhat common radio term for getting rid of something or someone?

HUH! Well, it might be somewhat old news by now, but I don't see it having been posted here yet, so I'll have a whack at it. About... oh, maybe 3 weeks or so ago by now, I guess, I just discovered something that took me by a decent bit of surprise! I was listening to FM100 (...point three) and there was this remote broadcast, and suddenly the name the DJ announced as his own threw me off! "Rusty Keys here at the..." "...FM100.3..." RUSTY KEYS?! FM100? WHAT is Rusty Keys doing at a remote broadcast on FM100?! Yup! He had just jumped ship from his post as PD at B98.7! I couldn't believe it! But I can't get him to even acknowledge my question about why in any e-mails I've sent him, even though he has answered others of my questions. Couldn't he just tell me that it's private then, instead of pretending like he hasn't even seen it? That jerk! Naw... other than that, he's a pretty nice guy. :-) But still, that's just funny seeing that happen with him. I have been so used to him being the PD of the Bee for several years. Well, but you know, it's not really that shocking. Haha, it's not as if it were Mick or Allen making that kind of move! Hahaha, now that would be really pretty funny! Well, anyway, I guess this reminds me of the time when I was a bit shocked to have heard Brian Foxx on FM100 because he came from KISN97! Well, I'm used to it now, though. Brian shows up at all those free Christmas miniconcerts at the mall (which, sadly, the last one of for the year has just happened yesterday from when I'm writing this). Yeah, and when Fisher moved to KOSY a few years ago... well, but for me it just sticks out as a little more odd when they move to FM100, because when I was young, my mom listened to that while it was still a dumb ugly "elevator music" station! :-D Donny Osmond (whose niece Anmaree I have just taken out on a date to a performance of the 20th anniversary of the Forgotten Carols!) has been one of the personalities on the Bee for a good while even before Rusty left, but then I don't remember what slot that was, but he's on during 3-7 now. I wonder if his show is recorded in Vegas and then sent over, or what, exactly. I don't know who the new PD is, but I guess I wouldn't be too surprised if that position has now been crowned onto Shawn Stevens. Happy Christmas!

Recently, at the FM100.3 Christmas miniconcerts, Brian Foxx told me that Bill West, their PD for about 5 years, had left their station about 2 months ago, and that Kelly Hammer had come on as the brand manager. They aren't calling Kelly exactly the replacement PD, though. And Kelly isn't a talent guy, so they've had some other guy (whose name Brian has told me but which I had forgotten) fill in as talent until... (see next story above)...!
It would be nice if we could know why Bill left, if for no more reason than curiosity--just like I was curious why Dain Craig, the guy who was PD there before him--left....
Happy Christmas!

Hey, just a few days ago, Fox 13 announced that they'd be building a new set! And then maybe... I guess it was about 2 days ago now, from their new temporary set, they showed us some of the manual demolition that was being done to the old set! Whow, it's cool to watch that! I have that moment recorded.
I wish channel 5 had shown us theirs when they changed their newsroom back ground stuff about a year ago!
Happy Christmas!

Prayer of Thanksgiving and Come, Ye Thankful People are Thanksgiving songs! Oh, and yes, there are Christmas hymns being played right now on light rock stations, so yeah, there ought to be Thanksgiving hymns on them, too.
Why can't "Linus and Lucy" be played at Halloween time and/or Thanksgiving time, too? It isn't as if that was only used during A Charlie Brown Christmas. They did use it during Great Pumpkin and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, too, I thought.
Oh boy, Christmas is so soon now! Happy Christmas, folks!

Oh YEAH! I have heard that "I Heart Radio" thing before. But FM100 (...point three) doesn't say "Proud to be a Bonneville station" anymore. It's been "Proud to be a DMC station" for a good little while now.
Happy Christmas!

Crap. Too late for us to hear the transition again, huh? Well, still good to hear about, though.
I hope we soon get one where someone was listening early enough to hear the warning signs.
Thanks for posting.
