The grocery chain is Kroger. Been around the South for about a million years. The other is Kroeger, and it looks like nearly everyone there has the same last name, on their website.

He was working at KSL way back when I started. After moving to KUTV, he worked on "Music and the Spoken Word", and I saw him every week until the production end moved to Temple Square. Great guy! (Most weather folks are!)

Although my day-job has always been the Engineering side of things, I've produced a few things here and there. It never ceases to amaze me how people can put out a quality daily show consistently. Dave and Debbie are able to do "double-duty", and do it well.

Just wait until something knocks out all communications on earth, and the media can't figure out how to explain it without the ionosphere. Kinda like, "If we're off the air, put up a slide". Maybe the media would pay attention if Taylor Swift did a song about sunspots.

Just saw it mentioned on another forum, that the FCC approved the license assignment this morning.

I think there may be a change to ATSC 1.0 one day, IF 3.0 is found to have issues with public acceptance. Not very likely, but it could happen. As for 3.0, there are a whole lot of things that could be changed over the years, especially in the terms of compatibility with older sets and boxes. So, it's not surprising that there a "dot" in the numbering system. My question is still, has anyone taken the plunge yet, and what are your thoughts on it. And, if so, have there been any issues with using a 3.0 receiver on the legacy 1.0 transmissions?

Saw something today, about a low-power DTV station back east switching back to ATSC-1.0, until they can get some things figured out with 3.0...including the scrambling issues. I guess KJZZ is still the only 3.0 signal in the SLC market. How many of you have a receiver for 3.0, or plan to?

Can't believe the D-News used a twelve year old photo. Triad Center looks nothing like that nowadays. All those logos are old (I think the picture was taken as YESCO changed out the original signs). So many of the satellite and microwave antennas are now gone (Bonneville Satellite Company disbanded several years ago) and the uplink in the canyon is just a pile of dust. Still, it's nice to see the KSL1160 logo.

Could be like the Digital TV transition, where everyone said it was the "switch to digital", when it was actually the switch-off of analog. It all depended on which way you were looking at the big model of a switch. Maybe she'll flip a switch to turn off the non-holiday music 😉.
