I watched the first few episodes until my wife told me it was too silly. So, I just went back to scanning every channel, which of course is not silly.

It's now airing on KSL-FM HD2 at 102.7 MHz.

KULX-LD digital channel 10 must be off the air. I have a big antenna and usually get them with a solid signal.

About 30 years ago I read an article in Time magazine about Ted Turner, founder of CNN. The article mentioned that Turner cuts his own hair. The next day I bought a pair of barbers' scissors and haven't paid for a haircut since. It's not my favorite sport, but I do get my hair the way I want it. And I've probably saved enough by now to buy a barber shop. Maybe a small one. Or at least one of those fancy chairs.

Seeing KLO get higher ratings than KBZN brings to mind and old wish. I'm still hoping one day to hear KLO-FM 97.9. Despite reports to the contrary, I still contend that KLO-AM has a very weak signal in the southeast quadrant of the SL Valley. I would assume that it's weak in Utah County too, I don't know. Simulcasting the AM on FM would of course be inexpensive and more people would be able to hear them clearly. I'd love to hear their programming with a decent signal. And I would dare to predict that talk on radio will only gain in popularity as music listeners move to MP3 and satellite.
The previous FM talk experiment on 97.5 was interesting, but they had a weak signal too.

Several SL stations had been leasing subchannels to USD-TV, among them KJZZ. USD is long gone now. I don't know, but I doubt that KJZZ is selling spectrum any more.
When I checked just now, neither 10.1 nor 10.2 had audio. I suspect that 10.1 is a placeholder for a future Telemundo HD since 10.1 currently is oddly stretched. Analog channel 50, which has the same programming as 10.2, does have audio.

I can get 92.1 with a clear signal here on the east side of Murray if I orient my Superadio's antenna broadside to their location down by Payson. I don't remember ever getting a clear signal from them before. I suspect they've done something.

I notice that KSL-AM is not in HD any more. I wonder whether this is temporary or rather a conscious decision. Personally, I prefer they leave off the digital signal. On some of my radios the digital hash could be heard not just on sidebands but right through the main frequency.
And 94.1-2 is now running KNRS while 105.7-2 has the 50's and 60's oldies. Why not leave the oldies on the oldies channel? Maybe they're hoping to eventually sell the cursed 105.7 freq while keeping a place for KNRS on FM. (I'm only half joking.)
Digital radio: "I'm not quite dead yet."

Does anyone know when the next ratings come out? And does anyone know if and when PPM will be used in Salt Lake?
Just curious.

Marathon Media. Now I know where that name came from.
Trib headline: Salt Lake marathon owner accused of fraud, 'downright immoral' business practices. Speaking of immoral, Chris Devine brought rap music to Utah radio. This music celebrates crime and espouses violence, degrading sex, and substance abuse. 'Downright immoral' indeed.
Here are 4 comments from the Tribune:
1. While I was working at KBER with Chris he would always joke about going out to see crazy Bob to get more money. He would come back and tell us how weird he was but he always got money. Funny thing is our checks still bounced. To Bob Allen's family I hope to God you win. Chris Devine thought Bob Allen was a joke. A rich joke. A guy who had two headed turtles. Chris deserves to rot in jail for what he has done to people. Hopefully that is next.
2. I remember that, during the time that Chris had KBER, a local publication that showed lawsuit notices was FILLED with lawsuits against KBER! Now I know why!
3. Twenty years ago when I was working in radio there was an old saying. "When you do business with Chris Devine someone is going to get (screwed) and it won't be Chris Devine."
4. OMIGOSH! I still have "stock" from one of Devine's radio stations. Helped him build it in sales so it could be sold. Was told I'd receive $$$, even went to the "closing" and given "stock" for the promised $$$. I have it framed somewhere...Ha! I'm older now, and a lot wiser! Trust me...Devine is not "divine"!
