New. And even tough we are on the air we are still susceptible to power surges but working on it. There are still a good number of issues, we still need to take care of, but at least, we now know what we are dealing with. Before, we did not have the slightest idea why the transmitter had been modified, and could not just put it back to specs without knowing why it had been rigged. Now it is just a matter of putting a few more hours into it to have it back up pounding the airwaves with a clean, powerful signal. Thank you for all your help !!! I don't know if this issue is related to the power surges, but there's been an ongoing issue with dead air on KDYL. I've been listening to 1060 for the past 10 minutes between 6:45-6:55 PM; and the station is on the air, but there's no audio present. It seems to be an intermittent problem, because everything was fine when I was listening to KDYL this morning. If the dead air issue isn't related to power surges, it may be an automation problem caused by the signaling/cue tones not "firing" correctly. I just heard the top of the hour legal ID at 7:00 PM and the commercials that followed the ID, so the automation seems to be working now. It might be worth having an engineer check the audio chain for the transmitter to make sure everything's functioning correctly.
