Listening to 103.1 The Wave today (Sunday, Nov 1st) and they were using the KLO call letters on the station IDs.

So any guess on when the call sign change will take place for both stations?

Network stations aren't going to preempt the network. Meanwhile, 103.1 has requested KLO-FM. So is the change just in the call letters?

The earlier thread talking about Jon Carter's plans after leaving KRSP is locked, so I'll post the news here.
Today Jon Carter announced on his Facebook page that he will be the morning DJ at 104.1 Zion FM in St. George. So local listeners will have to go to the station's website and stream him if they want to hear him in the mornings.
I wonder if the reason for the time off was to get moved to the new city?
Good luck Jon.

Curious on a couple of things. I know we can't talk about numbers specifically, but I am wondering about causes and effects.
KRSP after Jon Carter left. Was this a personnel change because of the numbers or did the numbers change because of the personnel change?
Why are streaming numbers noted separately from over-the-air? I had been listening to my favorite station by streaming until our ISP noted that we had used up a lot of data in the month (house full of streamers living here). So I pulled out the stereo to try to cut back on the streaming. Would it help my station better to stream it or continue over-the-air? I know I've gotten a few former Utahns to pick up the streaming app for the station after they moved out of town.

I don't think (and I really hope) that The Wave doesn't go away as it is my favorite radio station. They have been making some changes that I hope will bring some of the numbers up. They have the catch phrase of "Music in the morning, no repeats all day" to focus on music.
Early in this thread, there were posters stating that Weber State athletics would be better on 103.1 The Wave. After re-reading those posts yesterday (after seeing the announcement) I was wondering if they were onto something.

Jon Carter posted on his personal Facebook page that he was on radio hiatus for a while and would be back.

Cuzzin Brad was on for Unrest. He returned to the airwaves last Thursday IIRC.
Andrea mentioned at the end of her show that she would be back next weekend. I think she only has some weekend shifts at this time. I had also sent an email to the station welcoming her back and she personally responded to me saying that she was thrilled to be back.

And yet another addition. I turned on 103.1 The Wave today to get ready for Unrest on the Seventh Day and Andrea was on the air. She stated that she was back and was thankful for all of the warm welcomes. I checked the website and it wasn't posted yet, but it was only a Sunday.

I've noticed for the past few days that 103.1 The Wave has been playing songs that would normally be on the "Newer New Wave" show about once an hour. Newer New Wave plays new songs from artists that were popular in the 80s and 90s as well as songs from artists that sound like they could have been in the New Wave time frame. Usually after the song plays, they say "This is a song that would have been played on our Newer New Wave show airing Thursday nights at 7pm". I thought it was an interesting way to expand the play list while keeping up with the classical alternative format.
