As we look forward toward the flips that will inevitably happen over the next month, what will we see? We already know that FM100(.3) will flip. Even if that wasn't a foregone conclusion (which it is), they're again holding a contest to guess the date and time of the flip. I do have a problem with them claiming "It’s not a secret that FM100.3 is the official Christmas music station in America." ( fm100.com/contest/flip-christmas-switch/ ) Seriously Bonneville? I'm pretty sure that major market stations like LiteFM in NY or KOST in LA would have something to say about that. In any case it's coming to 100.3 probably soon. Were I to enter the contest, I would take advantage of the dates and times noted on this board for my guess. We also already have 99.1/99.5HD2 in the mix. The religious networks will be getting there at some point as well. I'm really not up on the history of country stations and Christmas music. I recall that there's been some of that in the past. Maybe someone who is more into country could give us a prediction. Who else might flip? It seems unlikely that any other iHeart station would flip with Easy already doing it. Ditto for The Arrow with FM100 as a stablemate. Rewind 100.7 could, especially if Broadway was planning to flip the station, but I don't see it. Hansen has enough on his plate right now. The only real possibility I can think of would be B98.7. That alone might be a reason not to switch since they would be the anti-FM100 for those who don't want to listen to Christmas music. Seems like a tough call. What do you think?

KEGA has flipped in previous years, bet they do again. That's probably about it.

I was listening to 99.1 yesterday night, around 8:30ish (11/10), and they were not playing Christmas music. Just normal ClassyFM soft music. I'm in American Fork, and the signal was pretty solid. I listened for about 15-20 minutes and while I can't recall specific titles, they were not Christmas songs.

Checked again this evening and it's still not Christmas Music. Am I possibly getting a different 99.1 here in AF? Is it ClassyFM that flipped?

It could be they are on syndication with Delilah or whatever her name is. I recall last year they did Christmas during the day and the AC when she came on.

Delilah is on 99.1 right now playing Christmas music.
Timmy, maybe you’re hearing the 99.1 from Nephi. They call themselves Classy FM.

In American Fork I would bet that it's Classy (KMGR) especially if they've finished their 100kw upgrade. That would put a very strong signal all the way up to Provo/Orem. fccdata.org/?lang=en&facid=72769I'd be very surprised if K256AE (Easy 99.1) had any usable signal past Point of the Mountain even without KMGR on the air.

And as Terry pointed out in the middle there, FM100 did flip. It's a little earlier than I was expecting (I would have guessed Friday) but pretty much in line. Now that the gorilla flipped (there's a frightening image) does it make sense for anyone else to? If they can offer something FM100 doesn't and can mount a media blitz to promote it, maybe. I'm not seeing it. For anyone staying put now might be a good time to consider counter programming and promoting it. With budgets stretched tighter than usual this year I don't really see that either. In any case it's likely to be a good season for Bonneville.

I wish KMGR could be heard in Salt Lake County. It is a great station. And yes, I know I can stream it.

KMGR is carried on 93.7 KKUT-HD3, receivable loud and clear here in east Murray (formerly called Cottonwood).

I noticed this morning that KSOP-FM 104.3 has started playing some country Christmas tunes, e.g. Alan Jackson's version of "White Christmas". I'm guessing 1370/104.3 HD2 will follow in short order.
EDIT: KSOP-AM has also added a couple of Christmas tunes each hour to their music mix, and KANN 1120 has flipped to 24/7 Xmas music.
