KSFI switched at 7:23 this morning. On the first snowy day, just like last year. Darn, I chose 12 AM Monday morning (11/20) as the day and time they would flip. KSFI's flip this morning only leaves KEGA-FM as the last major player that hasn't yet made the switch. I wonder if they'll be having a country Christmas again this year?

KUAO 88.1 has flipped to all Christmas music, as well as KANN (1120 AM). KEGA-FM is still airing their regular country format . . . for now, anyway.

K209CJ (89.7 Tooele) up in the Oquirrhs is running the same programming as KUAO, which isn't surprising, so I presume all the Air1 stations are running it.

That's been true for a long time. It's actually an even bigger story. When was the last time other than Christmas that you heard Lite AC on a terrestrial station? For example, this time of year the PD's rediscover The Carpenters. Happens every year.

The last time I heard Lite AC on a terrestrial station was just before KLGN (a/k/a "Lite FM") switched to all Christmas music at the beginning of this month. They play the Carpenters plus a lot of the '70's greatest soft rock hits year 'round. That's why I'm such a big fan of the station: they play the songs I thought weren't cool 35 years ago, but which I now realize have stood the test of time a lot better than some of the '70's metal bands have.

I stand corrected, though I was thinking more about Salt Lake stations than the non-metro stations.

If you want to stick with Salt Lake stations, I'd say the last time I heard Lite AC on a terrestrial station was during the Danny Kramer/Mark Van Wagoner era of KDYL. (By the way, 1060 is off the air again, as if anyone cares.) I really miss Danny playing "Jingle Bells" by the Jingle Dogs on KDYL at Christmas time. Guess I'll have to check his Retro Media All Stars site and listen for awhile to see if he still has his sense of humor.
