To spite what TMJ says, Clark Howard is not retiring. He is ending his syndicated show, but his other projects will continue.

At one point Rewind was running a syndicated show on Saturday nights. Could that have been what you heard Pete?
I'm reasonably sure that what's airing now is what Bob is going to be. They're just not going to officially unveil the new brand until Monday at 6AM when Jon Carter starts.

To my thinking the 70's and 80's were very different, both musically and culturally. I don't see it.

From what I see Westwood One is the contractor who provides physical distribution but Dave does the actual syndicating and owns the show. www.ramseymedia.com/syndicateIf you're seeing something I'm not please tell me.

Kool-FM is also saying that they're airing on 103.9 in Utah County. That would be K280GJ on Lake Mountain which greatly extends their range to the south and eliminates another (IMO) unnecessary duplicate since that translator was running Mix 105.1 last I checked.
But what does it sound like? I'm frankly disappointed. In the well over an hour that I listened I heard I think four 60's songs. Yes they're there. No, calling it a "60's and 70's station" is somewhat misleading. I'd put it closer to classic hits than oldies. Too bad.

As I said before, I believe Ramsey owns his own show. That is, his company IS the syndicator.

In one way this wasn't a surprise. The previous simulcast of The Eagle on 105.5 made a little sense to me in that it gave the station coverage of the Tooele valley, but it was still too much of a duplication for my taste. In another way it is a surprise. Oldies on a Salt Lake station? I love oldies but I didn't think anyone would have the guts to do it on a station targeting the heart of the metro. (Of course we know what fmdj1 is doing down in Utah County, but that's going hyper-local which I would argue is a different ballgame.) This is going to be really interesting to watch. I'll have to give Kool-FM a good listen to see what it's like. Also, this doesn't appear to be related to the possible change at Rewind, if you were wondering. Sexton was added to KNRS Sept 21. Ramsey was added to KKAT effective Nov 16.
Sexton is an iHeart property as is KNRS. Ramsey is his own thing as far as I can tell. That alone is a reason to switch. I'm pretty sure Ramsey would have been happier being on the higher rated KNRS but at least he's on the air here.
FYI the new ratings should be coming out Wednesday.

That wasn't how I interpreted the "I'm out" comment but I don't know. The thread was a bit contentious and I thought he was just saying that he was done with it.
The KFNZ calls are available though I never liked how Citadel/Cumulus called 1320 "KFAN" even though those calls have been in Minnesota for decades but that's another story. I was under the impression that national sports talk wasn't really that much of a ratings maker. Even with the play-by-play of the local teams and LOCAL sports talk, the sports stations we have aren't making big waves. I know there's a market for shows like Rome, but I'm not sure there's enough there to support a station. Maybe if they could get Denver baseball and hockey play-by-play? Other thoughts?

First just to be clear on what the Domain Insight feature is...it reports that there are one or more internet domains that have been registered by a company and speculates where they might end up. It doesn't quite "predict" a change but more shows what might be changing. Having said that I wouldn't bet against a domain Lance Venta found being used. Meanwhile, I've seen what he found. It's behind a paywall so I'm not going to disclose what it is (and nobody else should either please.) I will say that I wouldn't spend too much time thinking about it.

It's a translator. A cross-service one for KKGM(AM) actually. How it got to that point was due to a petition to deny (and I think there was more than one.)

Ken, I'm not sure what you mean by "secondary audio." Channel 25.3 runs what I think at least used to be the audio for KSVN 730/99.9 along with the music video for the song. It's IDed as "KSVN-FM" and is just the regular primary audio and video just like any other channel.

OK. I've never heard of a requirement like that myself and it seemed a little weird.
To me it would make more sense not to duplicate the same program. With the limited bandwidth available I understand a station can't really get a good quality sound for a music format on 3 digital streams. My thought would be to turn off the 3rd stream and use that data to improve the HD1 & HD2 sound, but that's just me.
