We've had discussions about shoehorning in translators, how they interfere with each other and so on, but I don't think we have anything like K221GV Fort Worth. fccdata.org/?lang=en&appid=1786961&facid=202298This is a construction permit for half a watt. Its predicted coverage area is about a block and a half. Oh, and it's highly directional. I once connected a wall wart transformer to a battery powered FM transmitter for listening to an MP3 player in a car and I think it had better coverage than this. Either the FCC or me is totally nuts. Am I crazy for thinking that something that small is a waste of space and shouldn't be allowed?

Is it a translator, or an on-channel booster.... I forgot to look? It is probably to fill in a shadow behind some tall buildings. Back in the early days (before KSTU went to VHF), KSL had a translator on channel 13 on top of the University Club Building. It filled in the shadow on the lower avenues homes. I remember that Singapore actually had (has?) a law that required builders that block TV reception to supply Cable or an MATV feed to their affected neighbors. I thought that was cool. Even wrote and asked them if it was true.

It's a translator. A cross-service one for KKGM(AM) actually. How it got to that point was due to a petition to deny (and I think there was more than one.)

After I dug through the links, I saw it was an AM-to-FM. I wonder if it's just keeping the channel warm until they can work something out with the complaining station. They can move physically, channel-wise, or buy somebody out, I guess.
