Guess that was short-lived.

I wonder if they switched formats because of 92.1.
I can't tell you how much I love this -- for awhile, even after the switch, 92.1 online was HipHop/Rap. Currently, 94.1HD2 online is still Smooth Jazz.

"Smooth Jazz is once again on your radio... Here at The Touch 92.1 it is our goal to make KTCE a World Class Jazz station, Please keep listening as we continue to expand our playlist!!"
So glad to hear Smooth Jazz once again on the radio locally.

Thanks so much for the Google Earth link. I've been hoping there was such a creature, but didn't know where to look.
You can clearly see the old road just on the west side of Mountain View Corridor and on the east side of the KWDZ towers. I obviously was incorrect about there being a cemetery there (hey, it was a long time ago), just remembering there was some fencing and a couple of small buildings.

My comment was based on their (they being KALL 910 at the time ('80s)) saying that their new tower was in Herriman. At the time, the ones that appear (going by those photos) to belong to KALL 700 were the only ones out in the area.

Their towers are out in there in Herriman, close to the old cemetery.

I'd definitely go for the format that KDYL had a few years ago. Not the Oldies format they had immediately prior to them selling/leasing to CRI (can't really compete with KODJ), but before that. Danny's since launched it online at RetroMediaAllstars.com, but I'd love to see it on-air.

The first I noticed them (their HD feed) off the lineup was at the time of the KSL dispute with DirecTV. Since there was text on the screen and OTA was good, I figured it was carriage dispute. With Telemundo and Univision having been around here for some time, I can't believe Estrella though they had enough clout to force the issue. Should've stayed with must-carry.

For those on the Engineering side of things - since Dennis Silver has passed away, his family is auctioning his broadcast gear and equipment:
We will be having an estate sale for Dennis Silver's equipment on Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 2-6 pm at Godfrey Trucking in West Valley City, UT, 6173 W 2100 S.
Dennis left behind 10 storage units and 4 semi trailers that he stored equipment in. Easily transported items and all semi trailer contents will be at the sale; photos of very heavy equipment and their specs will be on display so that buyers can arrange a time to pick them up from the respective storage units.
Any help in getting the word out to the radio community and/or in sorting through and identifying items will be much appreciated. Contact Sariah Hillam at hillamdr@gmail.com or 801-358-2648.
