Another part of the 99.1/103.9 shuffle was approved again. This moves Mix's 103.9 rimshotting from the south over to 99.1. There's still a corresponding construction permit for KGNT to move also to 99.1 as well as KNYN to move to 103.9, though those should have expired already.
Maybe all this will finally get done.

What happens to Clear Channel's country station if this goes through? (If you can call it a station).

It will either have to shut down or change frequency. They can't coexist. I'm 99% sure that's why it shut down the first time several years ago. It was relaying My 99.5 at the time, which was redundant and they KUDE move was happening any time. They turned it back on after it became obvious that the move wasn't happening. Clear Channel hasn't filed any displacement apps yet, so I'm not sure what they're planning. You don't think they'll try moving it over to the full power signal on 105.7 and that's why KNRS has reappeared on 570AM do you?

Hmm. Classic Country 105.7 might work. It would lure in former KKAT listeners. It would also have stiff competition and may struggle a little bit. I don't think they are going to change KNRS-FM any time soon, but in this business, anything is possible.

This move is happening. Sand Hill Media (thanks to Simmons newly refreshed Web site) is moving "Sunny" 94.3 (weird moniker for a rhythmic CHR) to 100.5 and forcing KBYI-FM under duress (sound familiar?) to 94.3.
If I recall correctly, the eastern Idaho shifts were tied to this whole Utah mismash hodgepodge reassignment and transmitter move scheme.

I definitely remember BYU-I really being ticked off at having to move. I also remember that KLZX has to move too. They've had a CP to move from 95.9 to 99.9 for a few years now.
The holdup originally was that there was a question about ownership cap rules for the way things were going to move. I think originally KNYN/Fort Bridger was just to to move to Cache Valley and KGNT/Smithfield was going to become a Humpy station. There wasn't going to be any frequency changes there. That was viewed as an ownership cap problem so they switched it so KNYN becomes the Humpy on 103.9 and KGNT just moves to 99.1 instead. That apparently solves the problem. Or at least that problem. The bigger problem is that this all should have happened years ago. But the FCC being a paper tiger is a whole different mess.
