The SLC ratings for December came out today. (See also a few comments in the "KNRS back to 570" thread.) To follow along at home, check www.stationratings.com/ratings.asp?market=101It was a slightly late Christmas present for Bonneville. KSFI hit double digits for the December period which ran November 11 - December 8. I don't remember the last time there was a double digit station. They were all Christmas for that whole period too. Half of it was before Thanksgiving and half was after. Either the post-Thanksgiving listing was mind blowing or there were a lot of people listening before Thanksgiving. I'm floored either way. In second place was fellow Bonneville stalwart KSL. Very solid numbers for them as well. Mix 107.9 took a hit as did Z-Rock. No need to panic yet, but keep an eye on them. Odd PPM placement? K-Love on KKAT-FM is plummeting. There seemed to be some initial interest, but then it's slowly eroding. I expect it to level out soon though and I doubt Educational Media Foundation really cares about ratings that much anyway.

Some of those ratings don't surprise me, but some, ouch! Especially my beloved Z-Rock. I wonder what happened... besides the holidays. I hope they recover. I'm surprised KKAT-AM showed up. KENZ continued to plummet, given nobody seems to like the 90s format. Here's hoping the flip back to their old selves has some effect.
I think the main reason that the ratings went haywire was the season. I hope all bounce back to their normal states next time.

Keep in mind the next book is the Holiday book, so that may be skewed as well.
