Hmm. It also doesn't mention KUDE, the southern end of the Mix simulcast. Given that KUDD/107.9 is going to become a rimshot itself, maybe that will go in a different direction sooner rather than later. Also, which stations will be sold off from the combined group? I think X96 is a sure-fire keeper. If I were them, I'd spin off KZNS. Does The Zone have anything they could consider marque?

I'm looking at the filings that Simmons made a week ago and I don't see any of that.

I predict Simmons will lay off half the staff. U92 with shift CHR/Pop and sound horrible. Live mornings, everything else tracked.
(shudder) Oh well. Millcreek was great while it lasted. R.I.P.

Will be interesting to see the changes or format switches in a few months. You would think they would keep KUDD the same as it has been doing good against KZHT but Movin' 100.7 that will probably go Heck I think they should put a Smooth Jazz on that frequency would probably pull higher numbers than what it's getting now? I hope they keep The Point as it is, It compliments X96 for the older generation as it plays alot of the older mod music. KUUU is always up there in the top 10 foolish to touch or change that one 1280 The Zone? With the Jazz and Real does Salt Lake really need 3 sports talk stations? I could see if there was an NFL or MLB but that just seems silly to me unless they go after U of U sports but they could save some $$ to focus on talent on the FM side if they would maybe simulcast something on 1280 maybe Jack Fm? Oh actually 4 sports stations in SLC I forgot 1230 Am

I'll bet some of the people at Citadel forget about 1230. Looking only at the 12+ numbers, Movin is actually the highest rated rimshot right now hovering around a 2. I think The Breeze as a New Adult Contemp station was usually between 2 and 2.5 and occassionally getting more toward a 3, and that is a full market signal. They might flip, but I don't think NAC is a good idea unless they have some much better way to do it in mind. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Putting a '60's-centric oldies format on one of these things would be a great idea for one of these underperforming stations. Just make sure you don't get tempted to move forward in time and screw it up! (I'm looking at you Scott Shannon.)

I wouldn't mind a smooth jazz returning to SLC. What is funny is right before KBZN flipped, it was growing on me, just as Country Legends was starting to. Seems like every time a new station grows on me, it flips months later. Now that I'm no longer in the market, things will get stale

The article says nothing is planned, but new management always says that.
I don't know about the other markets, but with the market nearly cornered on Spanish language radio in a market with a good sized Spanish speaking population it might be a good idea to just stay the course.
