KOGN 1490 is on the air as of this writing with a repeating loop of PSA's . . . and nothing else. In fact, it sounds like the PSA's being broadcast are the same ones KOGN was running when the station went dark in December 2008. My guess would be that the bankruptcy receiver is just activating the transmitter again to prevent losing the station's license. I checked the FCC site for info, and there's nothing showing on the application list since the last action in March. Haven't heard any legal ID's yet, but then again it's not near the top of the hour at present.
KNFL 1470 is still on the air with the new age/classical/jazz music mix they've been airing since about March or April of this year.

Interesting. Per the certification listed on the FCC site, the last time the licensed but silent clock was reset was back on Nov 21 2009, so they wouldn't need to turn it back on for that reason for 5 1/2 months. It doesn't hurt to the cautious, but I'd be looking for a different reason. Maybe it's been sold and the paperwork isn't in yet?

If that's the case, the real estate agent that's listing the property hasn't taken down the sign yet. I drove past KOGN yesterday afternoon and the for sale sign was still out front, and I didn't notice a "sold" sign anywhere. For what it's worth, KOGN is now broadcasting the Dial Global network message with instructions on what number to call to activate the satellite receiver. I guess someone got bored listening to the loop of three PSA's.

I wonder how much they want for either KOGN or KNFL? The KNFL, with two towers, might be a good DX receiving site...out there in the country. I wonder what shape the power line insulators are in around the area?

I wonder what shape the power line insulators are in around the area? I did a search earlier today using 1506 Gibson Avenue Ogden UT as the search term, and the asking price for KOGN is $399,000. Don't know what the asking price for KNFL is, but if someone can come up with an address for the transmitter location in Tremonton, maybe a listing can be located for it as well. Somewhere on the net there's a page with information about KVOG (the original call for KOGN) being received by a DX'er in Denmark (or possibly Norway) circa 1960, so maybe the KOGN site would be good for DX reception as well.

According to the information in the filing that Ken found (nice work, BTW), and other information I found in the filings at the FCC website, the property is still owned by Legacy/Skinner. The station itself is what's been taken over and sold. I suspect the $399,000 is for the property alone but I can't confirm that.
