Wow not impressed at all with SLC's HD2 channels in Salt Lake at all!! And they are pushing this as an alternative or even better that Sirius XM. Just the basics as I was visiting family in Utah. Country Country Country! 99.5 Hd 2 Classic Country - 105.7 Hd 2 Classic Country - 97.1 Rockin' Country - 94.1 Freedom Talk and that just the basics.
It seems that Sacramento and San Fran area have done a good job of complementing the mains with good HD2's just a quick outline on some. Sacramento's KSSJ main Smooth Jazz KSSJ's HD 2 The Quiet Storm KYMX main 60's and 70's - KYMX HD 2 50's oldies KSFM main All the hits - KSFM HD 2 Pure Dance Ok OK so you see a pattern HD 2's are complementing the mains with a good second choice of there main format.
So here's how I think SLC's HD's should be done just for fun..... KODJ's HD 2 50's Oldies (I think they did that before?) KZHT's HD 2 Dance or High Energy KJMY's HD 2 1980's and 90's KNRS's put Freedom there to compliment talk radio and put the Classic Country format on 570 am
KRSP has done it right main Classic Hits HD 2 Deep Tracks that works....
I really like the Radio Radio format on 106'5s HD 2 that is really good
Anywooo just my thoughts....

I like your suggestions, they stick to what I would do too.
Like you, I think Deep Tracks works on KRSP as does Radio Radio on KOSY. KOSY-HD2 would be my only favorite HD-2 channel, with KLZX HD2 second, that is when it comes in.
The rest are just bleh. KBER and KBEE could use HD-2s but I don't see that happening soon.
KUBL, KENZ, and Country Legends were at one point going to get HD broadcasts but the economy went poo, along with low demand for HD Radio itself.
As the most over saturated radio market in the country, Salt Lake doesn't put its HD signals to good use.
