OK so in my research I've discovered the following. 1- KUTA is an America One affiliate in Logan (as we all know) and will be soon simulcast over KULX 10.3 in the Salt Lake metro market sometime this spring. This information came from emailing America One and KUTA. KUTA needs to add a satellite dish at the studio when the weather is better. Hopefully this will happen at or after the time when KULX has expanded their digital signal. 2- According to the website for the new network TuffTV, they will have an affiliate in Salt Lake on April 1st. It will be on KPDR Digital Ch 19. According to RabbitEars.Info this is a station out of Park City. Tuff TV: www.tufftv.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=59&Itemid=64New scanning contest soon? Has anyone heard of any other new additions in the Salt Lake area? I know that TheCoolTV has just expanded into 24 more markets and wants into Salt Lake. AMGTV is also looking to return to Utah after loosing contact with KCBU. @sportstv is looking to expand their network as well. Thanks in advance.

Who ARE these guys? I'm all for more choices, but the numbers of broadcast networks I've never heard of is just amazing. There are big names behind some (This=MGM for example), but they're multiplying like rabbits. There was some discussion of the KPDR move in this thread here for reference. talkingutahradio.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=utahtelevision&thread=584&page=1The COL will be Park City, but the focus is definitely the main Wasatch corridor. Mostly Salt Lake/Davis/Weber.

If KPDR goes on Ensign Peak, there's one more station you'll have to get up and turn the antenna to get. (When will people learn? Or, do they only think about "must carry"?

That is unless you have an antenna designed for a completely different band like me and you don't have to rotate at all. Right now its pointing east and I get all locals in clear. Signal wise some are weaker than others, but visual wise, I can't see any problems.

I, on the other hand, have an extremely directional high gain antenna and can get all of the low power Oquirrh Mountain stations with strong signals, but I can't get channel 32 on Lake Mountain at all even though they are a full power station. But then, I don't speak Spanish either.

And once in a blue moon I can pick up 32 from South Weber with a simple bowtie pointed southwest at Farnsworth. It's just barely on the edge of being picked up and reception has a ton of dropouts. It's actually surprising how crowded the UHF band in SLC is. Maybe that's the only channel that's available and the best location considering spacing issues. Unfortunately things don't always turn out in the most optimal way.
