I'm actually glad 105.7 is in mono. I live near Emigration Canyon, and it's amazing how much better KNRS sounds compared to KSL-FM (in stereo). Doing a side-by-side in my car, the KNRS signal is much stronger. I'm not a technical expert, but I assume that's because KNRS is in mono and KSL is in stereo. I notice it when I'm in Utah County, too, where KNRS has a much better signal than KSL.
Are 105.7 and 102.7 both on Farnsworth Peak broadcasting at the same power? If so, I would prefer that KSL broadcast in mono.
On a side note, did anyone else notice that KNRS is now using a new station announcer? It sure sounds like the same guy from Channel 5. Interesting.

Thread drift happens, but you're probably right. See the new thread. (I also answered slcut's question there.)
Back to the branding thing. Let's look at this from another angle also. When The End moved from 107.5 to 101.9 they kept the End name. It really makes no sense the way the station is now, and only those who remember the history will understand it. Should Citadel rebrand, or is it something that should be left alone for historical reasons?

I think it would have been funny if they would have changed from "107.5 the End" to "101.9 the Middle" It'd make a little more sense. 101.9 isn't at the End of the dial. On a related note (to this thread) I was listening to Dr Laura on Thursday via KNRS's web feed and yeah even the liners there seem to blatently pronounce 105.7!!!! That's it. No KNRS. just 105.7. Hmmmmm....

Actually Michael, I did suggest "101.9 The Middle" back a long time ago. I think it was when the rumors were first flying about what would become of 101.9 after Millcreek sold it to Citadel. I suggested that as a joke though. They ended up simulcasting 1320 KFNZ for about 4 months then stunted with Pop Goes the Weasel starting the day after the Stanley Cup Finals ended. I called that one too, though again it was a joke. (Actually I had two suggestions: 101.9 Pop FM, which they actually did, or 101.9 The Weasel.) Of course that crashed and burned and they ended up moving The End anyway. But again we digress.....
What about the other Clear Channel properties? 570 launched as Freedom, but you could make a case that they had to do something to distinguish it from the old 570 which was also a talk station. 106.5 was a relaunch without a real difference as Today's 106.5 last year. Any other debranding going on at CC?
