TVWeek says that the Washington Post is reporting that WTTG wants to reassign the teleprompter operators to other jobs and have the anchors run their own. Opinions seem to be divided and it's being spun as a cost saving move. It also apparently tested well at the Fox O&O in Austin.
I would think this would be a good thing. Nobody knows how to pace a script better than the guy or gal who's actually reading it. Anyone else would have to guess. If it saves a few bucks all the better, but it also wouldn't cost anything to have an intern do that for free.
What do you think? Maybe this is coming soon to Fox 13?
