So I'm watching Stargate SG-1 on 2.2 when suddenly the signal goes out about 840-845pm. In my troubleshooting I find that I have no signal for 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 14, 30 and any of the sub-channels.
13, 16, 18, 24 and a few others come up just fine. So I guess my setup is ok. Did something happen to the stations?

I checked with two friends who had cable. They still had the TV stations coming through.

This was posted on KSL.com
A failure at the receiving end of our signal has interrupted TV broadcasts for many of our viewers. Comcast users should still be able to see the broadcasts, but those with satellite cannot. KSL is working on the problem and will have it fixed as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Looks like they're coming back slowly. Power failure from the thunderstorms maybe?

I was watching TV this evening via Comcast and noticed no signals missing. However after reading these messages I've just checked my over-the-air signals and as of this time (10:50 pm) I'm not receiving 4, 9, 11, 14, nor 30.

Me thinks they need a backup site to switch to in case this happens again. All of those channels are on one stick I believe, kind of scary imho.

I know they have a backup antenna up there for DTV stations, but I don't know the TV combiner setup and I don't think the individual stations have a separate backup antenna.. 13 has its own facility up there so that is why it wasn't affected. On the radio side Timmy, Each FM has its own backup antenna if there is a problem with the FM combiner and the big FM community stick. But a problem with the combiner that rarely happens. As for the Digital set up they have a pretty good power backup system up there as well..

I would guess they were on the backups. I would surmise that's probably how they got back up so quickly and why they're on reduced power. KSL's aux site (for example) is at half the power and a lower height from a very nearby tower (546kw@1267' vs. 295kw@1128').
