Woohoo... oh, wait, hmmf. Radio-Online says KJMY's translator will switch to the AM side's programming, and it will be available on 99.5 HD-2. So long jazz. Do you guys think the calls will change. I hate having to update all my DX lists with the new calls

I think it's been said all along that 570 will get new calls, but radio-info is confirming that also. (And RI at least got the former calls at 105.7 right. ) At least we know now why the 99.1 translator resurfaced. The thing is, what happens when KUDE moves there? As far as I know the table of allocations hasn't been changed back. Millcreek is supposed to move it. I suppose they could delay until the other moves from the Really Big Docket happen and KUDD moves to Humpy, then lease KUDE to Clear Channel. And why didn't they try this less disruptive plan with KNRS on 570 so they could utilize the FM for music? Ok, but what about the actual plan for 570. "Freedom 570"? That's a positioner right out of 2002. I think they need a better one, but that's not hugely important. What's important are the hosts. Clark Howard should be ok as long as he's not on evenings like he has been with KSL and KUTR. Putting him up against Dave Ramsey on 105.7 is a mistake. WSJ is probably going in the same slot as where it is on KSL, and up against Coast to Coast that should be fine. The other stuff really depends on what the exact timeslots are. I mean, do they really want to put Boortz up against Rush and Doug Wright? That's crazy. Boortz will get creamed. In fact, the whole thing is crazy. But are they crazy like a fox. Could it be that this lineup is designed to fail so that when they flip 570 to liberal talk there won't be as much of an outrage? Time will tell. As for where the IBOC FM simulcast will go, it would make a lot more sense to put that on stream 3 instead of 2 since talk doesn't need as much bandwidth to get reasonable quality sound. But given the other nonsense that's going on, not much would surprise me right now.

I ponder if anyone at CC reads this message board. We have better ideas than what they come up with and could really help them if they chose to listen... but then again, they are probably really stubborn over there.

They just seem to be going out of their way to make things complicated. It does make sense to change out KODJ HD2 though. I think that's a simulcast of KNRS right now. But why they didn't just keep the simulcast of 570 there..... I'm not going to comment specifically on who reads this board, but I will tell you that there are quite a few that would surprise you.
