I have found a reason to have an HD radio. 105.7-HD2 plays 50's and 60's oldies with no commercials. I find myself listening to it more than any other music station. You might like it too. It might be worth the cost of an HD radio. Or maybe not. Never mind. Don't get up.

I was liking the bits and pieces I heard on 106.5 HD-2 and the audio fidelity on their FM on a recent trip to that area. For what used to be a great station, something is very wrong with 97.9's encoding into their equipment somewhere - either off the CDs they created the music library from or in the processor on Farnsworth.

I like KOSY HD-2 as well. As far as HD, its the only station other than KBER in the afternoons that I listen to. I will have to check out 105.7 HD-2.
I noticed 97.9 sounds bad too, poor station.

I am too starting to listen alot to 105.7 hd2, but they got a weird thing going on with the processing though, some popping on the high end other than that its awesome! I love listening to KBER on HD as well... as for 97.9 they used to have one of the best sounds in the market with their processor, I loved the dynamics on that station... I wonder why they tweaked it.. I am kinda curious if they are running a Omnia or a Optimod, I heard a Omnia from someone a while back... anyone know??

FWIW The BEE turned off their HD signal, and the station sounds 100 times better, signal wise. HD on that station sounded like garbage, I think that's why they shut it off. Not to mention, with 99.1 coming back on, there may have been some slight (likely not though) interference.
I'd go for RDS any day over HD.

97.9 analog used to be the best example of processing in the market. Now it just sounds average. Are they running digital now too? Why is it that stations seem hell bent on making their stations sound lousy on the analog side while running commercials that tough how great IBOC sounds? (I haven't heard much IBOC, but from what I have heard it's not that great either....)
DX, do you have some information that KGNT is going to be moving to 99.1 soon? They're the only ones who even have a CP for there now. KUDE's expired over a year ago and they haven't filed for a new one. Doesn't matter much though. There are a lot of rimshots with IBOC encroachers around now. Jack and KBMG each have sideburns, er I mean sidebands, smacking them around on both sides.
