Anyone else having reception problems with KJZZ-DT? The picture seems to break up at least once every few minutes. None of the other Farnsworth DT's do that.

Yes, channel 14 must be having problems. They had a very similar problem months ago during the Jazz season when they first started trying HD broadcasts. It took them weeks to figure it out.

Ditto. It was so consistent on 14 and so rare on other stations that I thought something was up, but it's good to be able to confirm. I also think it's pretty funny when stations go off the air completely overnight. I think it was Saturday morning that KUED and KUEN were MIA.
I have to think that the engineers are aware of this, but why it's still going on is a bit of a mystery. This is one of the less ADS-enabled* markets in the country. About 1/4 of the market gets their signals over the air. If the signal is that screwed up, people are going to notice.
* ADS=Alternate delivery system (cable, satellite, MDS)

KJZZ's RF signal looks fine, but it seems that their encoding has problems. Maybe it's on a back-burner, while they move to KUTV's studios?

Do you mean their master control is moving?

Whatever the issue was, it's fixed now. I noticed on Tuesday that things seemed to be much improved. That was the same time I noticed a slightly different KJZZ-HD bug. Whatever they were doing it looks like things are ok now.
Thanks KJZZ.

Yes, KJZZ now has the "HD" added to the bug, and the picture doesn't blip every few seconds. Yay!

I watch KJZZ digital from a Lewis Peak Translator and it does seem to have fewer problems now. One thing that bothers me is the HD label on shows that aren't HD. The viewing public is confused enough! Reminds me of one time I went into Circuit City and the sales person tried to convince me that because KSL news was 16x9 that it was HD. (This was a few years ago before they had HD cameras in the studio)
