I notice that KSL 5 analog is still on saying that they will be on the air until June 26 with "emergency" information. They are running nothing but programs about the digital conversion.
KUCW 30 is available at the moment only on 4.2. I wonder whether they will have any HD programming tonight.
Channel 20 is now digital. In fact they are transmitting 4 identical channels on 20.1, 20.2, 20.3 and 20.4.
As of this moment, channel 24 is still analog. If I'm not mistaken, they are required to go digital or go silent today.
There are still 5 or 6 low power analog TV stations broadcasting.

Oh here, I live in a valley. On the loop I get "moderate" strength for the 3 towers within feet of the house and weak strength for 2 of the 4 signals coming from Queen Anne Hill. No Fox, which is on a mountain to the west of the major cities. I would have to buy a rooftop antenna (BUT I LIVE IN AN APARTMENT ) to get proper reception.
This is part of why I invested in cable TV here. CBC being the other benefit. So I moved the TV to the windows and re-attached the VHF arms after learning that 3 of the stations are on VHF. Sadly, I still cannot get Fox. It is the only one I don't get, locally, and they have the weather forecast on their sub channel. They are on a mountain to the west of the area and so I live in a deep east valley = no signal. :-( Here I have *counts channels* 20 + 2 religious audio broadcasts Since the local Fox broadcaster is a duopoly and there is nothing on 22.2 (My Net TV), I am curious why they don't re-broadcast the Fox affiliate. OOPS I think I updated my original thread, not creating a new one. Also, using a PHILCO converter box from Fred Meyer.

That "emergency information" you're talking about is called Nightlight service. Just in case anyone has been under a rock for the last year and a half, they're sort-of covered. Any emergency comes up and they can get info from the TV even without being digital and that will tell them how to fix what's wrong. As of about 11PM KPNZ24 is gone. They were there at 10:45, gone by 11:03. Comcast has a video mute of colorbars for video and the audio is trying to center in on Ch 23 using AFC. It's not being that successful. Nothing digital yet. Speaking of Comcast, some other interesting things happened that I wasn't expecting. There are some issues with their lineup. (So much for those who have cable being ok.) KUEN is missing from analog Ch 9 completely. KUEN's DT channel and the Comcast digital feed that feeds cable boxes are both working fine, so I'm not sure what the deal there is. Ch 12 is also video muted with the loss of KUTH. They won't be joining the digital party for a while. Comcast's 22 is announcing that Telefutura is now only on digital 619. The station ID on the cable box for 22 is just blank now, so that's apparently permanent. Which station was it that ran Telefutura over the air?

KPNZ24 is on in digital. Comcast hasn't caught up yet.

Be sure and make a DVD of that "Nightlight" information. A live seminar of that caliber would cost you $200+, as well as transportation, lodging and meals.
(The younger guy, Gary Sgrignoli, is the "inventor of Digital TV". He was head of the ATSC committee, and knows his stuff. The other guy is Engineering Director of Iowa Public TV.)

Wow!
You mean you didn't bring in Dick Norse specially or have someone else "trusted" from KSL doing the instruction?
That's what's left on night light KING-TV 5 here in Seattle.
However, the south sound has a loop that appears to be from the NAB on KBTC-TV 28.

I'd like to see the nightlight presentation, but sadly I can barely see anything on analog 5 now. All the UHF D's come it great though. Progress!
