According to LDS NewsRoom, the Church has just launched a digital internet and HDRadio stream. It will include a variety of content from past General Conferences, Devotional Addresses and other talks. The Church will also be producing content specifically for the channel. They will also be broadcasting this on every Bonneville radio market on an HD radio station. Info: is.gd/B2Yd

I really liked Henry's clip for this, I just have to share it. Playlists are NOT radio. People are. Too bad he and I are about 20 years too late. *sigh* I don't know how my friend going through Weber State is going to make it. He couldn't even get a free-labor internship this summer. URL: www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXmqofc2G_UAnd yes, the music is awesome from the 80s, especially new wave. I miss it here in Seattle. From another YouTube URL: Local radio where I grew up as it sounded in the early 90's. Nostalgia for me since I was in junior high school at the time which was absolute hell for me and had me on the edge of suicide. I used radio as a coping mechanism and some of what I listened to ended up on tape which I still have today. Don't see how "Mormon Radio" or any broadcast content at this point will do that.

KSL-FM seems the natural fit to me. The underground alternative thing they had been doing a while back never seemed like a good fit to me. I could just imagine some college kid jammin' along on a Sunday morning when the digital signal dropped out and the rock suddenly gives way to Music and the Spoken Word. It would be kind of like driving down I-15 at 65MPH and then shifting into reverse. Both are fine by themselves, but one right after the other probably isn't going to end well.
