No, it's not TROJAN Condoms... although that one seems to light it up as well. ;D From today's Taylor on Radio-Info, although he got it wrong as he sometimes does... X 96 DUDE. Ashley Madison – company motto “Life is short, have an affair” – hits the Salt Lake City radio market.
In 2008 the entrepreneurial dating service used radio in markets like Houston (KILT-AM later pulled the schedule), Boston (rockers WAAF and WBCN took the buy) and Philadelphia. Ashley Madison CEO Noel Biderman says that recently “we started seeing our Utah member base growing”, and he decided to try radio in Salt Lake City, a market that is, um, pretty darn religious. The Salt Lake Tribune says Simmons Media president Craig Hanson heard one of the “cheat discreetly” ads on rock “96X” KXRK on his way to work and pulled them ASAP. He says the ad is “incompatible with what we view to be the standards and values of the community.” Ashley Madison says the spots are still running on Marathon Media’s rocker “Blaze 97.5”, KZZQ. Somebody's got to make money on infidelity, might as well be that guy. It is a shame that any radio station (or sales person) doesn't have the judgement to pass those up. Infidelity, although not a big deal to some, really leads to a lot of hurt for all the parties and children involved. We all get tempted, but geeeez, keep it in your pants.

Howard Stern runs Ashley Madison Ads. In many ways they creep me out more than anything else I hear on his program.

It really makes you wonder who is left to staff production at Simmons- Interns? "Questionable by community standards" advertisers rarely made it on in the cluster where I worked.

I've seen a few news articles on this and one thing that's not being made clear (likely because the reporters don't know enough to ask about it) is whether this service is truly for cheating or whether it's for polyamory. Those are two very different things. Cheating is where Partner A believe that he/she is in a monogamous relationship with Partner B, but Partner B is also seeing someone else. Polyamory is where Partners A and B are in a committed relationship but each gives permission for the other to also have a relationship with a Partner C. I haven't tried it myself, but polyamory is actually more common than most people might think and I don't have a problem with it. The only thing you need to be sure of is that everyone involved (all 3 or 4 or more) knows what the score is and agrees to it.
So now the question is, which is this group promoting?

CA, Ashley Madison promotes their service. The incidental personal circumstance, matters not one bit.
