There was an announcement today that all of the programming at WABC in New York will now be available at no cost in addition to the previously available deal through Citadel Media (previously ABC Radio Networks.)
I can't help but wonder if some or all of these shows will end up in Salt Lake. Is this the answer for troubled 1230? Seems like a reasonable possibility, especially with the previously mentioned hike in ESPN rights fees. Free is good.
In a related note, RFDTV is now available on Comcast. They run Imus' show in the AM.

That could be a very good idea for 1230. I'll keep you all in the loop as much as I can. Last week a bunch of equipment arrived and it looked like it was labeled KKAT.
My first inclination is this is the HD processor for KKAT-FM, which has a CP to move to Farnsworth (I think). KENZ was at one point going to go HD but I have yet to hear about it.
Also today, the head engineer was testing some new equipment in the room and was going through all the stations Citadel owns one by one on a radio. I think something is coming... we shall see.

Do you think that was new equipment or removed equipment? Could be from any of three frequencies if it was old. (Isn't this market fun?)
KKAT-FM moving to Farnsworth is contingent on KUDD moving out to Humpy. KUDD's CP hasn't even been issued yet, so there's no imminent move there. What other moves have to be made first I don't even know. The engineers might be getting things ready now so that everything is set up to go as soon as possible after 107.9 slides out of the way. That would make sense. I'm not sure I'd add the expense now, but what the hey.
