The Utah Broadcasters Association will be holding a job fair at the U Student Union Ballroom on Apr 7 from 9AM-1PM.

I had a few colleagues who wanted to go. I told them these fairs are FCC-mandated, so you can imagine the industry's enthusiasm to hold one.
I bet they'll have a few openings for live remote board ops for $8/hr and that's about it.

FCC mandated? I've never heard that, though it really doesn't surprise me much. The Funny Cookie Company has a lot of really strange employment requirements. I agree though that there's not likely to be many significant positions available. Pretty sure nobody will be filling an AM Drive DJ position from one of these. Still, it's something.

If I understand correctly, it's part of the EEO. It's also why they have to send out job opening notices to a ba-jillion organizations. And of course these wonderful pages, which the FCC requires if you have a web site. simmonsmedia.com/eeo_2008.pdfwww.ksl.com/eeo/slc2008.pdfThat's partly why Millcreek delayed and Bob Morey never created station pages on the web. You don't have to update these on the web if you don't have a web site.

I am not sure if KBER or any Citadel station will be there.

From the spiffy promotional materials I got, it looks like everybody (even CC and Citadel) will have some showing. But I don't know how much they'll have to offer.
Citadel always used to have board op needs when I worked there. But a lot may have changed in the past couple of years.

We will probably be announcing our opening for a Promotions director for KBER/KHTB at that job fair. I don't know exactly who will show up. They also may have some openings for what I do, remote techs, (god forbid).
