Thanks for the tip. No question about it. That's just darn weird.
There's a posting at KPCW's website that made a formal announcement about it. Maybe the format change is permanent this time. Some of us were speculating about that when PCW bought 1010 about 5 years ago, and they had been alternating what they were feeding there between the KPCW feed and the Beeb for a while. Maybe the sale feel through and they just decided to keep it? As far as I can tell, nothing was ever filed with the FCC. Weird.
Oh, and 91.9 Park City is now officially KPCW-FM for the first time. Just for those keeping score at home.

Funny how, when they were having transmitter problems on 1010 a few months ago, I called the Duty Operator at KPCW-FM. Asked if they were the "Control Point" for AM1010, he said he'd never heard of it. But, KCPW (in SLC) said they had sold it to PCW, and had nothing to do with it anymore. Wonder where they kept the logs?

Y'know....maybe THAT should be a part of the FCC website info: Where is the Control Point actually located?
It sure would help in a pinch.

According to the FCC docs, the only time the Commission would be notified of where a control point is, is when it isn't at either the transmitter or the main studio. I would guess most are for simplicities sake. There's a lot more at www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/bickel/noonehome.html specifically Q8. You're right though. There are a lot of things that should be available but aren't. Personally I'd like the ownership information to be a lot clearer. Having the license held by XYZ Broadcast Holdings or something isn't very helpful. Combing through the ownership filings is not always helpful.
