As a result of PPM, sources report that KYMV 100.7 is now keeping the "Movin" moniker (probably to save on re-imaging, jingles, etc) but has decided to drop 'music that makes you feel good' and attempt to build cume as a CHR with PPM's arrival in fall book.

You'd have to call them a Rhythmic CHR. They've moved younger and seemed to have dropped the classic dance and are just sticking with currents. They've always been there, but the classic tracks were being mixed in too. I'd call it a major tweak rather than an actual format change.
Too bad. No more "Funky Cold Medina"

For me, I can't tell much of a difference between rhythmic CHR and CHR unless the station is playing 'rap' hits. At this point there's so much mixing of artists like Rhianna, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Kevin Rudolph. Now in SLC a CHR may play more ... Nickelback, Calling, Plain White T's vs. a rhythmic presentation. Anyway, here is Tom Taylor (Radio-info.com news tip guru)'s thoughts on the flip. In Salt Lake City, “MOViN’” now means CHR.
The rhythmic AC format on Simmons Media-owned KYMV (100.7) evolves into a CHR presentation that keeps the MOViN’ name but plays current top 40 music. That positions it nose-to-nose with Channel’s KZHT (97.1) – and becomes just the latest in what may be a whole chain of challenges to long-established Clear Channel CHR positions in Los Angeles, New York (if the rumors are true) and now Salt Lake. Truth to tell, Woodruff, Utah-licensed KYMV beams in from the East of the market and isn’t the full-metro blaster that KZHT is. But the recent Arbitron trendline – 0.7-0.8-1.1-0.8 through the Fall book – must’ve convinced Simmons it was time for a change. Simmons went rhythmic AC in the Fall of 2006, when there was a whole wave of conversions to Alan Burns’ new approach. Now Salt Lake City is facing the debut of Arbitron’s PPM electronic measurement system – and it’s eyeing the success of big CHRs in current PPM markets.

I'm thinking it's more of a Top 20 CHR. Gave it a listen online and I'm sure I heard the same song 3 times in the hour? Also gave Mix 107.9 a listen but I would say they are more Top A/C sounding then KZHT or Movin' RIP.... Alan Burns and his Movin' Format, most cities gave it a run for about 2 years but they are dropping fast. Still the best place to find Old School Dance and Hippity Hop is Sirius/XM but still not happy with the merger there but still lovin' Sat Radio...Just don't let my boss know DSPete
