Seems that Congress is getting close to deciding on the bill that will "force auto makers to spend billions to put AM radio in cars, and make consumers have to pay money for obsolete technology"....well, that's the gist of it from some angles.
I keep hearing the argument that am radios interfere with the engines of cars, especially EVs. At least a couple of those self-proclaimed technology writers have explained it that way 🙄. They also talk like enabling AM via a chip and a bit of software will make cars unaffordable, unlike all the other pay-to-play things that they already include in a new car.
I hear from many broadcast professionals that they cannot pick up any radio in their own homes, no matter how close they are to the stations. So, they act like that's just how it is.
So, it seems that people can't get radio at home, and they are ready to give it up in their cars. My question for the folks on this forum is, "Where do you listen to radio nowadays?" Do you go outside on the lawn? Do you go to the nearest public park? Without paying for a satellite service, or stream it for a monthly fee, do you get radio, and would you give it up in your car because Elon Musk doesn't think it's cool?

I only listen to radio when I am in the car. At home and work, it is all streaming -- and usually not local stations unless I am listening to a Jazz game or breaking local news.

I only listen at home these days, but the details are a different story.
I don't understand how anyone could say they can't pick up FM stations from home. AM I understand though I don't have much of a problem myself even though I have lots of computer devices.

I listen at home and in the car. In the car I listen to FM, but like the option of listening to AM. At home I mostly listen to FM, but I stream a few stations. When I listen to KKAT at night it's via streaming because the AM is weak and has noisy static. I stream KMGR because I like the oldies that no one else plays and I can't get KMGR on KKUT's HD anymore. I also stream the Hugh Hewitt channel, because he's only live at 4am to 7am on KJJC. I also much prefer KSOP-FM HD2 over KSOP AM.
