NASA will be shutting down the linear NASA-TV channel in late August in favor of their on demand streaming service NASA+. They say NASA+ has "gained four times more viewership than the agency’s traditional cable channel." Since NASA+ only launched last November and the linear channel has been around for decades that sure seems like statistics spin to me, but that's their decision.
The local impact will be on KUEN's 9.2 which will lose its programming for the second time in about 4 years. Which service will be the next to show up there? Classic Arts Showcase maybe?
