KUUB is on the air with what I assume is Radio Bilingüe. The signal I'm getting is weak. I don't think the station as KCPW-FM was this weak. Maybe they're still working on it?
The odd thing is that the copy of Radio Bilingüe on 90.1 HD4 is completely gone. There's no more HD4 at all. That doesn't make any sense to me. I'm pretty sure the 90.1 HD signal can be heard in areas where 88.3 can't. I understand giving more bandwidth to the other streams, but at the expense of some listeners losing RB?

That would explain why 90.1 had no tables on their HD signal yesterday. Are the channels labelled now?

The station name is there, but there is no data for the HD1. The HD2 just shows "HD2-HD2" and HD3 is "HD3-HD3"

I can confirm that it is Radio Bilingue on 88.3 and that they are broadcasting in stereo--something that KCPW stopped doing, according to Wikipedia anyway, to compensate for the fact that they have such a low power signal.

I don't remember noticing whether KCPW was in stereo. It wasn't, even during music programming?
I never believed that turning off the stereo pilot did much to increase a station's range. The radio would take care of that on its own unless it was the cheapest $2 radio imaginable, and those were probably mono only to begin with.
According to the notice of resumption of operations, KUUB is at its fully licensed power. The weakness I heard a few days ago is gone. The next step would be to wait for the construction of the power increase.

They were in stereo when they first signed on and they were affiliated with KPCW. It seems to me like I hadn't heard anything in stereo on that station in a number of years--even music behind the promos and stuff. Admittedly, I don't think I ever remembered to tune in for music programming to be able to tell whether they were in stereo then.

This is pure speculation, but I wonder if KUUB is planning on applying to increase their power toward Provo. I think the limiting factor in that direction is only KPGR. I'm bringing it up because there was an application filed by 88.3 K202CC to move to 88.1 with almost the same coverage area. I can't think of too many reasons why they would do that. KUUB wouldn't have to worry about the effect a new application would have on K202CC since K202CC is a secondary service, but maybe K202CC got wind of a deal between KUUB and KPGR that would allow KUUB to expand southeastward. Or maybe none of this has anything to do with anything. Just throwing it out there.
