And before you ask, KSL is easy pickins up here most every night.
KZNS 1280 made it to west central Alaska Monday January 8th at 801pm Mountain with several very clear mentions of the Utah Jazz! I got lucky because normally what I hear on 1280 is KWSX Stockton, CA which is also sports and had I not heard the local mentions, I would've assumed it was KWSX and not KZNS.
KLGN 1390 Logan made it to Alaska Sunday night January 7th at 925pm Mountain. Heard with "106.(x) and 1390 The Fan" mentions and the only other station on 1390 with sports and a translator is in WA state, but their translator is on 104 something and I clearly heard 106 something.
I was originally a member of this forum using another user name when I lived and worked full time in Wyoming, I lost access to the email tied to that account and can't remember the password, so I had to sign up for a new account. Manage a station in Alaska now but still do afternoons in Laramie, WY

I wonder if KZNS isn't powering down at night when they're supposed to. I believe they are 50K during the day, but some ridiculously low amount of power at night. I thought 1390 was the same way. They're not 50K during the day but ... maybe they don't power down at night. Anyway, that's really cool.

KZNS is licensed for 670 watts at night, and that's aimed away from Alaska, so they are probably at 50 KW Omni daytime pattern. I'm not sure where their control point is, since KSL programs it, but Broadway maintains their transmitters. They often have issues with one or the other of their feeds. Most people at KSL don't seem to even know they exist.

KZNS doesn't have quite an omni daytime pattern. It's close, but there's a null to the northwest. The night pattern is quite severe though.
