Henry brought it up, but I wanted to expand on it and add my congratulations to KDYL for running a great radio station. The thing that strikes me even with the changes in format over the years is that KDYL is personality driven radio. It's real one-on-one stuff, and it's local. That's the kind of radio that can't be replicated with an iPod or satellite radio or internet streams or whatever. And it takes talent to pull off well. Anyone can put on an automated jukebox. Not everyone can do engaging radio. There's a place for both, but one's much more difficult. Kudos to KDYL.

***blush*** Thanks for the kind words, but this radio station is probably the most unique place I (we) have ever worked for. Most of us are independent contractors and have a great relationship with ownership and frankly, if the standard way of contracting talent were implimented, this or any current station probably couldn't achieve what we do with our special set up. Everyone is pulling the same cart and no back stabbing and worrying about being on some ego-manic's turf! This station wouldn't work for many other owners/talent, but sure works here. And thanks to a good computer program we can do our shows and also some of the other things which make life worthwhile. Having been in radio/TV since forever, I can let you know that the old John Lennon line about what happens while you are waiting for something else, is life. I'm just happy to have learned that at a young enough age, to change my priorities as to what's important...Sorry, to get off on this, but I know a bunch of young broadcasters check out these boards and remember that family and friends are so much more imporant than trying to please owners and PDs, they aren't on the same chart. Keep up the good work...all of you.
