Short notes to disclose;
Mr. Barry Wood, a communications FCC attorney is the sole owner of this property.
A Tower has been ordered from the folks at Rohn, a tower slightly smaller than the one that was felled by the earthquake a few years ago. The site cleanup from that fallen tower has been completed.
The Transmitter is being moved into the brand new Catholic facility only a stones throw from the tower which will be going up.
Rohn has experienced a slow down at their factory since that thing they called Covid. In regard to the fabrication process - this now takes anywhere from 9-10 weeks to fabricate - and then ship to the site.
The initial ground work for the tower bases will begin within the next 2-3 weeks ahead.
Provided the SLC winter is not too brutal, it is conceivable that the tower erection could be completed sometime around the end of this calendar year.
A format has been chosen.
Sales and marketing literature has already been developed.
It has been a long and arduous process, however, we're all pulling in the same direction and hope to have this project pulled across the finish line shortly.
I will answer any question I am permitted to and I'm open to any of your own thoughts as well.
Thank you.
The new tower will blanket the entirety of SLC with a signal during daytime hours what will be heard as far south as Provo.
A studio site has also been identified and secured.
After toying with the idea of a call letter change it was decided that KMRI will continue to remain the call letters of the station.
We had anticipated being further along at this time in the process - however - just like most thing in this industry the wheels can sometimes move slowly.
