ION TV has moved to 16.4 and 16.1 is now UTAH 16?
Alot of FOX 13 news programs are now on repeat along with Live with Kelly and Mark.
Also noted Scripps News Hours are included thru out day and Classic TV at nights.

Yep. I think the switch happened at 4AM. It was definitely on by the 6AM news. I would call it an independent. The early morning, noon, and late afternoon Fox 13 News is a simulcast, though when I saw it this morning 16 was airing promos instead of the ads that 13 was running. They're also airing time-shifted copies of the 9AM news, Live with Kelly and Mark, The Place, and the 9PM news. There's also a mix of live and time-shifted news from the Scripps News channel that's fulltime on 16.6 and some syndicated programs.
This does clarify what I saw earlier this week in a story about the Vegas Golden Knights. It said that their games will be broadcast on Utah 16. I hadn't heard the name before. 16 will also be the overflow station for Fox NFL Kickoff. For at least the past few years there's been a conflict on Sunday mornings during NFL season. Fox13 wants Good Day Utah to air until 9AM. They also have an obligation to run Fox News Sunday after that, but that's when NFL Kickoff airs live. What they've been doing is preempting an hour of AntennaTV at 9AM for Kickoff, but now that will be on Utah 16 instead. From the promo I saw I think there's going to be other sports as well.
The name isn't original, but I'm not sure I could come up with a better one. I think this is a good thing. It gives more flexibility for viewers who watch their local programming and adds some new local content as well. We aren't losing anything. A few days ago Fox 13 lit up Bounce on 13.7, which was duplicating the Bounce that was on 16.4. Now ion has replaced that duplicate Bounce, so there's a net increase.
And while we're talking about new programming, it should be noted that the Circle country music/lifestyle channel has replaced a second copy of HSN on 30.4. HSN remains on 16.8.

I'm not sure what you mean. You mean having competing teams on the same channel? That's been common in large cities with multiple teams for decades.
