My sister-in-law just bought a $350K house in a new development in Georgia. It's 1500 feet from a 50KW day/10KW AM on 940 KHz. Should they be worried?

Depends on the format of the station.......and how well her bedsprings act as audio rectifiers!

She runs her business from there, seasonally, and rents the houses out to other travelling professionals the rest of the year. They all depend on their computers and other devices. I may have to send her some filters.

I'm guessing the station in question is WMAC, the Cumulus news/talk station in Macon. RF from a nearby AM facility can definitely be a tricky thing. Ken, did you follow the war between residents and Salem's KKOL in Seattle? It wasn't pretty. The filings are available here: recnet.com/pleadings?appid=25076f917c2e87c6017c327c88c00ab5

I just read through some of it now. Blanketing can be a real problem.... I wonder how long they have been on the air, and how long the complaining neighbors have been there. I remember a case, a few years back, about a station that would come through a home's walls, audibly, but was never able to talk to their engineer.
***Another Salem station. 1160 in Lockwood, Illinois.***
