I happened to punch up my AM radio this weekend and was pleasantly surprised to hear 1400 KIXR broadcasting at what sounded like full power (1400 clear at 11 pm on a channel that busy takes some local juice). Just curious if anyone else has listened yet and how the reception is outside of Utah County. When I worked for Bob many years ago, I could list up to about Murray before it became too hard to hear. With them diplexing on what I believe is a slightly shorter tower, that probably took a minor hit, though I'm sure not noticeable in Utah County where their target is.

I'm hearing KIXR on the Northern Utah SDR (located near Corrine) with a signal strength of S3 to S5 at Noon local time. Sounds like they have a conservative talk format; as I heard the Mike Gallagher show when I tuned in, and a promo for Townhall Radio News. The West Jordan SDR is still receiving a faint image of KALL 700. KIXR and KUTN still don't have websites or online streaming, but it sounds like KIXR has a talk format similar to KJJC 1230. The web page for "The Radio Law Talk Show" lists KIXR as one of their affiliates.

I’m hearing 1400 from Provo for the first time in a long time. Their signal strength seems about the same as the station on 1450, strong enough to hear every word but with typical background static of a distant station. I heard Fox News at the top of the hour followed by Charlie Kirk.

In terms of programming, KIXR sounds like a clone of KJJC. I guess 1230 doesn't have a very good signal in Utah County, because I can't see any other reason for the program duplication on KIXR if KJJC can be heard beyond Salt Lake County. KIXR's branding is "The Talk of Utah County". I wish there was someplace online where I could find KIXR's programming schedule. "The Radio Law Talk Show" sounds like something I'd be interested in.
I did hear Fox News at the TOH like Terry did, so I don't know where the Townhall Radio News promo I heard during Mike Gallagher's show fits in. Perhaps it was packaged with the Salem Media talk programming and just slipped through. BTW, Frank (fmdj1) posted in the Utah Radio Chat group that the KIXR antenna is diplexed off the KEYY 1450 tower in Provo. It must have taken quite a bit of engineering to get two AM stations so close in frequency broadcasting off the same tower with limited interference!

They’re calling it “Kix radio, KIXR”
Joe Pags at 4 PM
“Brian Kilmeade 7 till 10 AM”.
It doesn’t sound like they’re just duplicating KJJC’s programming. Maybe some Salem stuff and plus some other stuff.
Is KIXR simulcast on an FM translator?

No, KIXR doesn't have an FM translator. They're strictly a stand alone AM station like KKAT.
