I'm curious about which AM stations had (analog) stereo back when that was still a thing. We previously talked about KSL using the Kahn system first and then switching to the C-QUAM system once that was the standard, and of course there was the now dead KEVA down the road in Evanston that should get a mention.

KUTR 820 was stereo for a few years when KSL (Bonneville) owned them, if I’m not mistaken.

Or maybe I’m confused. 820 was broadcasting a digital (HD) channel, maybe not a stereo broadcast.
I do remember some local station besides KSL broadcasting in stereo. Maybe it was 700 in Davis County.

My first car, a 1988 Dodge Shadow, had a radio with AM Stereo but not the flavor that KSL used. Nonetheless, there were a couple of stations that the radio did indicate were in AM Stereo. But I can't remember which ones they were, just that they were not stations that I typically listened to. 700 easily could have been one of them. I listen to instrumental now a lot when I am working but back then I never listened to it. Perhaps 1370 was another one? Never spent much time with country.

I never got to experience AM stereo but, along with KFAM 700, I remember KALL 910 mentioning they were in stereo.

I have a CQUAM exciter and other gear. Maybe one day I’ll install it on the backup Continental and see how it sounds. 😉

I'm pretty sure that KDYL/KKDS 1060 broadcast in AM stereo for several years; first as KKDS with the "All American Classics" format, then as KDYL during the station's adult standards era. By the time KDYL flipped to its "Real Oldies" format, I believe Ralph Carlson had discontinued AM stereo in favor of the Kahn CAM-D system. I'm almost positive that KFAM 700 (now KALL) also broadcast in AM stereo before the station was sold, and the beautiful music/easy listening format was dropped.

KUTR wasn't licensed until 2005 so yeah it seems unlikely it would have ever been analog stereo. They've been registered as being digital since 2007 though.
oldiesfunhouse, what music was KALL 910 running then?

KALL 910 had a full service format until 1991-1992, so my guess would be that the music was soft adult contemporary/MOR or something similar.
