They've been mentioning 75 years in their on air branding for a little while now.
I don't know about the accuracy of most of the information on that page, but I can say that the link to the KDYL Wikipedia page is wrong. The current station with that callsign (1060) is not the one they're talking about in the article. 1060 has only been on the air since 1967 and it was KRSP back then. It was what's now 1320 KNIT that was KDYL way back then. (FWIW, the KDYL calls have also been on 1280 and 1010.)

I just hope they really give a lot of history, and extend the coverage throughout the entire year. I had hoped for something like that during KSL Radio's 100th, making it sort of a "Celebration of Utah Broadcasting". Lots of important events have happened over those years, and lots of interesting people were involved.

FWIW, the KDYL call letters were also assigned to a radio station on 990 kHz for a few years. I believe the station was on 990 when it first signed on, then moved to 1010 AM in 1960. Legendary Utah broadcaster Doug Wright got his start in the business working at KDYL when the station was on 990 and located in Tooele. tooeleonline.com/kdyl/

I was referring to the stations themselves by their current frequency, but yes that's true that what's now KIHU was originally on 990. What's now KNIT 1320 was going to be on 1160 for about 5 minutes back in 1927 if you want to go that route. There was a lot of movement of frequencies back many many decades ago.

I was looking for some historical info on WGN Radio a few days ago, and found this video: youtu.be/Z5ldsRswLxsAlthough it's about the WGN-AM radio station, I hope KTVX will give similar treatment to their TV Anniversary Coverage. WGN did the kind of program that I wish KSL had done.
