Depending on who you believe, the Fall '08 ratings book for Salt Lake will be coming out either Wed or Thurs.
I hope Simmons has a decent book. They're really struggling. On the bright side, their' only full market FM is doing pretty well. It's everything else that isn't.
Your predictions?

12+ is now posted on AllAccess. I don't want to paste as it will be an ugly mess but here's the top 10:
<snipped by CA>
The rest seem to basically be flat, but KENZ, KDUT continue a big drop. "My country" is still the lowest rated 12+ full-market FM signal from Farnsworth and only KYMV is rated lower on the [listed] FM band.

I was surprised to see KHTB in the top 20. Its doing better then I originally thought.

Sorry about having to snip the numbers, SF. Reposting the actual numbers can get you in hot water and might even get the market embargoed (though that would be a bit extreme). I understand that posting rankings is OK though. The full text is at R&R. You can get it at tinyurl.com/SLC-Fall08If that doesn't work, try www.radioandrecords.com/RRRatings/DetailsPage.aspx?MID=224&RY=2008&RQ=4&MP=0&OTHER=2&MN=Salt%20Lake%20City&MS=UT&MR=22&12P=1676000&UP=1/21/2009&SU=CM&BPER=1.1&HPER=11.9&OPER=&NSD=&CE=0Ok, down to business. I'm not sure that Arbitron has the whole Blaze/Z-Rock thing worked out (which surprises exactly no one I'm sure.) They have KHTB (94.9) owned by 3 Point, which it isn't. They have KZZQ (97.5) owned by Citadel, which never had anything to do with it. They also have a year's worth of history for both stations, and since one wasn't even broadcasting for a good chunk of that time I think the whole mess is suspect. I'd guess the sales people have access to the raw data and should be able to figure it out. It's really pretty dumb though. I ask again, why is it so hard to hire one person who actually lives in the market whose job it is to keep track of this stuff so we don't have these problems? KSL continued its wild swings, fueled by the elections no doubt. Trying to hold on to those listeners starting.....about now.....should be interesting. Will the First 100 Days keep people tuning in? Is curiosity about where the economy is headed going to keep people interested? Will right wing slamming of the Obama administration drive people to listen to the likes of Hannity and Rush over on KNRS? (I'm putting my money on the last one myself.) FM100(.3) got a bit of a Christmas music bump, but KOSY definitely didn't. KOSY was down for the quarter. I'll bet Clear Channel is going to think a little more carefully about when/if they do Christmas next November. The Breeze was flat and has been for 4 straight quarters now. Apparently there are a group of people out there whose tuning buttons are krazy glued and they just can't change the station no matter what's on. KODJ recovered from a bad Summer book and got back to about what should be expected for them. Interestingly, Jack put up their best numbers in a long time. Maybe some refugees from FM100 and KOSY? I'm not sure about that.

I noticed the Jack number increase too and am happy for them to have showed up for once. Now if they could only get their programming right (i.e. what happened a few days ago). I don't think Arbitron has any clue as to whats up with 94.9. I was just very surprised to see it pop up in the numbers.

I can help here... the folks confusing you here is R&R.. not ARB or the stations.. here's the link to Arbitrons SIP page arbitron.com/radio_stations/station_information.htmyes, R&R shows KHTB to be 3 point... and KZZQ to be Citadel but that's just R&R's error.. the 12+ shares listed there are correct for the Fall 08 Book for KZZQ (including KAUU... go ahead.. look up KAUU in the SIP and see 105.1 The Blaze) etc. etc... but believe the Fall 08 Numbers are NOT the focus of conversation around town in Radio Group Offices.. it's the Miller Kaplan report on the billings of the stations.. market down 10% for the year.. 14% for 4th Quarter... several stations down (big ones too) 30% and more... and a some down 50% in some months... the blood is running deep ... I'm surprise there have not been bigger layoffs around town.

Thanks relic. I had an old link for where that page used to be but couldn't find where they moved it to.
