www.rtdna.org/content/2021_regional_edward_r_murrow_award_winners#3ltThe Radio Television Digital News Association gives out the Murrow Awards for "outstanding achievements in electronic journalism." It's a pretty big deal. This year, KSL won a total of 4 awards (2 TV, 1 radio, 1 podcast.) No other stations in Utah won. What I'm wondering is whether the other news operations in town submitted entries. I have to think so, but I don't know for sure. My impression is (and has been for the 24 years I've lived here) that when something is happening and you want to find out from radio, KSL is your choice. I don't think there's really any alternative. With TV I'm not really sure and I'd like to hear your views on who is good or bad and why. The most consistent local TV news I see is the beginning of 2News at 7 on KJZZ. It strikes me as being overly sensational and I find that off-putting. KSL-TV, on the other hand, is naturally very conservative and it shows. I'm not crazy about that either. ABC4 and Fox13 seem more balanced to me, which I think is a better thing. I've seen very little of PBS Utah, so I can't comment on them. So what are your opinions about the awards and news coverage in general?
